don't want to be too negative but i have shopped at all the stores around and i only go there if i forgot something like parsley. i bought meat there that was bad . my wife got sick from some sausage. the deli is a joke. i saw a girl with a vacuum cleaner sucking up scraps of meat cheese and other stuff, so gross! who gets to clean the vacuum? shopped garden fresh the meat only lasts for a day or two. we go to woodmans the prices are good and the food is fresh! today we went there and they were very busy the food was flying off the shelves the produce guys bring the stuff out on skids and don't even have to set the stuff out its gone in an hour or two. like everyone else said butera sucks woodman's rocks, but a trader joes or whole foods would be nice. jewel and Dominicks are just substandard for the prices you pay
I've been shopping @ this store for 3 years and last week was the final straw!
(1) As previously mentioned, the wait time in line @ the deli department is outrageous. I only buy Land O' Lakes cheese so you think I'd be in and out but no, took 25 minutes one time! Now they adopt this new policy that if you leave the line, you lose your turn. Give me an F'ing break...i could have had all my other shopping done and my car washed!
(2) Produce is gross! They advertised ripe peaches and bananas but when you get there, they're not and they never do ripen, just spoil!
(3) I totally agree about their meat department...crappy meat and it does smell in that section of the store!
(4) Consistantly find spoiled or close to expiration food on the shelves!
(5)Constantly taking away the things that I love to buy
(6)They never have the correct prices on the liquor so you get home, drink your bottle of 5.99 wine only to find out you paid 11.99!!!!
(7)When I go back with the receipt and complain that I was over charged, I was treated very rudely by the manager!!!
So needless to say, they are banned from my future shopping excursions & as one other person said, I too would rather drive to WI to go to Woodmans or Pick n Save now!!
PROS: They Are Close To Home...that's about all it is good for!
CONS: See The Above Mentioned
butera is much better than the dumb ass,s below say it is . the meat department is getting much better now that they brought back Jeff to run the department. he is very friendly and very helpful. they need more people like him. so stop by and ask for Jeff and he will be a friendly helping hand. you can go the wal mart or jewel but you are going to spend all of your money there. at butera you will save save save. great place and is always getting better!
I avoid this store at all costs.
I wish it would close and someone would open a trader joes. I think the community would benefit from having a TJ's since our only other options are Jewel and Dominicks. I honestly dont know why more people don't go to Woodmans in Kenosha where the quality is great, the store is clean, the employees are friendly, and you dont pay any sales tax!!!
Butera is just not an option. Just level the whole place along with the vacant old burger king and put up something that can actually benefit the community.

I am a former employee of butera market. and just to let you know a little bit about how they do buisness and how they get their prices so low is for several reasons. First of all people talk about the meat and deli stuff. The meat that they use to make the ground beef comes in frozen and is left out all night to thaw not only that but if you walk past the meat department it smells awful. Last year one of the grease traps was clogged to the point where the whole store smelled of waste. Most of the people had to step outside to get fresh air . And then theres the deli where the health department shut them down for 18 hours because one of their cases was leaking. Not to mention that on a daly basis I was receiving loads of expired product that I was told could be sold. And then theres the management that treats you like a dog. I remember the owner of the store called and swore at me in his native tongue. They have a policy of you have to punch in 5 minutes before you are actually scheduled to start otherwise you are late and if you are scheduled to work till 3:00 you cannot punch out until 3:05 otherwise that is an infraction. My girlfriend works their and she got sick from her boss so what did her boss do when she wanted to go home a and take care of her sickness. The manager got mad at her. The bottom line is this that If you read this I hope that it makes you never want to shop there again. But then again you might think I am just a disgruntled ex employee. Either way I hope that this can be the start of their demise and bring in a legit company.

With all the choices of grocery stores within the radius of this Butera, I use Butera as my last choice. The deli is just out of hand - you can wait up to 20 minutes to get your stuff! The produce is below average and doesn't last as long as other produce I purchase from other stores. It also bothers me that there are no windows - it is very dark and feels unclean. I also don't like that anytime I have gone there for a specific item in the ad, they don't have it in stock. I also think that their brands offered are limited. With certain foods I purchase, I look for certain brands - some of which they don't carry. They also have terrible waits to check out. And I refuse to purchase any meat after bringing home a pack that was almost all fat! All in all, I can find better quality food elsewhere without wasting a lot of time. It might cost a little bit more at other stores, but it isn't worth it if it doesn't last or isn't as good.
PROS: Lower prices
CONS: long waits, average produce, low quality meat, dark store

Butera is a market in the suburbs that is like the markets in the city. It has all the brands you would find in a grocery store and alot of ethnic food too. The produce is dirt cheap but you have to look carefully at the quaility. The deli is good but there is usually a long wait. I grab a ticket and then shop for produce keeping an eye on which number is coming up. The check out lines can be long but the variety and the prices are worth the wait.
PROS: Price, selection
CONS: long lines at deli and often at check out
