World class tapas in Chicago. Nothing too fancy, just good solid, Spanish tapas. The plates just keep on coming, and the sangria makes it even better. Highly recommend. Just be sure to make reservations.

Emilio's is my favorite place for tapas in the city! Make sure to make a reservation because it does it get crowded but it is well worth the wait! They have all of the basic tapas that you can get everywhere but then some of their own - everything is wonderful!

I took my wife and son for a nice dinner, the waitress was new, I can understand that, food took a little too long, and then we paid(95.00) and left. 2 days later I notice that they had charged me twice for two different amounts ($97.85 & $100.70), then I called the restaurant and the manager said that the server made a mistake (they should have told me that the same night I went to eat!) and in order to put that money back in my card it will take 3-4 days, I thought it was an honest mistake and I tried to understand the situation, but on the forth day another charge was made for $100.70. I called back and the second manager that I spoked to said the same thing. this is very inconvenient. today is the 5th day and I'm still waiting for them to put the money back in my card. I never thought I had to have a $201.40 deposit for a dinner of $95.00 at this Restaurant.
Also keep in mind that certain people, like myself, are allergic to fish and we were not told before we ordered vegetable paella that it was cooked with fish base. The Pincho de pollo also tasted like fish so they might use it there as well. It was very unpleasant.

I love this place, rarely a wait, and excellent sangria. The staff is very friendly and it's a large enough place that you never feel overcrowded even with the restaurant is packed on the weekends. Prices a tad high, but fun spot to go with a bunch of friends

I did not know what to expect going there for the first time. The experience was great all around. We were seated promptly. Waitress was very patient and explained everything. They have a great selection of tapas and I wanted to try everything. Tried the cold salmon, not great and too salty; steer clear. Wonderful wine selection. Plates are bigger than most tapas restaurants. Slightly pricey, but well worth the privacy and service. Am definitely coming back to finish the menu.

8 of us when to Emilio's on a Sunday night. I was surprised at how quiet it was, but we were seated right away and had relatively quick service - two of the couples had to wait until the very end to get anything that they ordered, but the rest came out pretty regularly. Sangria was good and we were loud and stayed for a long time and the service was great.

Pros: Pretty Quiet and never felt rushed

Cons: make sure you tell them if you have groups and what you want first

Sat night and not a staff were stirring. 30 mins to get pre dinner drinks , so I bought them my self at the bar and carried back to the table- beat the waitress by 20 mins. Oh how did you get those she said. ..ah but we only have one barman (on a Sat night?). food was greasy and tired, when it finally arrived.

We've eaten Tapas before at Cafe Iberico and some other one. Cafe's tapas are great but it's always so packed and loud. We decided to try Emilio's and we loved it. We got seated promptly. Our waitress was very attentive. All the Tapas we ordered were delicious as well as their desserts and I am not a sangria person but I did like theirs. Go for yourselves and try it. We had a great time as well as enjoyed our food in a much quieter ambiance then Cafe. I recommend their ravioli stuffed with duck (don't know the exact name) that was superb.

Pros: Ambience, Service, food & sangria

Cons: Their valet service wasn't visible and we had to search for parking.

Small dishes, oh wait, its a tapas place. Anyone who complains that the dishes are small don't understand the concept of tapas. This palce is a stupendous tapas restaurant and the dishes are wonderful. nuff said

Pros: A must try, wonderful food, drinks

Cons: A little pricey for college students :(

.

Small portions of less than average food. Even the bread was mediocre. Terribly over-priced.

Pros: None

Cons: Food, Portions, Price

One of the better tapas restaurants in the city. The tapas are consistently good and the portions are large enough to share each plate. most of the cold and hot tapas are delicious - especially the grilled seafood and chicken.

Emilios has great tapas, and a big selection. Good wine list, but somewhat overpriced. The place is usually packed, and not set up all that well. My chair was run into several times but servers trying to squeeze through small areas. Our server was great, very helpful and recommended a good wine. Fun to go with a group, not a nice quiet date spot. Food is reasonably priced, and good.

Pros: Well priced food, Good tapas, Good wines

Cons: Wines overpriced, Crowded, Loud

Way over rated. Unless it was a fluke, this place is for people who don't know good food.
The food was beyond bland. The service was average. The wines are over priced. If this is the best chicago can do for spanish cuisine (which I doubt), that is truly sad.

For a date place Emilio's is quite nice, but if judged as a regular tapas restaurant, it is sub-par. I thought the tapas were much more greasier/oily and just not as good as the ones you can get in BaBaReeba or Iberico. The prices are relatively higher as well.

although i've only been to this location of emilios, they have about the best tapas in the area. most of the hot or cold dishes are good especially the garlic potato salad/tortilla dish/grilled eggplant and the ham and cheese. can get pricey as portions are naturally small, but they do offer entrees as well. live entertainment certain nights.

This was my first time a tapas resturant, and although I don't think I very fond of the tapas style the food was pretty good. The waiter was very helpful in pointing out that you get small portions. All in all a decent experience but not the place to go if you a hungry for real.
