Club is a little out of date, but pool is the only Olympic size pool in the area. I enjoy the salt water filtration vs. harsh chemicals. Regardless of the age of the equipment, it all functions. This facility offers way more than the chain

I've been with Metro since 2000. I've looked at other clubs, including the chains and they just don't offer the same for the cost. Metro offers a massive pool with deep end (olympic), aerobics, weight lifting, cardio, strength training

Only Olympic size pool in the area where I can swim real laps. I enjoy the salt water filtration vs. chlorine chemicals. Makes my skin feel soft after swimming a mile or two in the morning. For the cost, they have all areas of interest.

Missy works with you from whatever level you are at. Flexible with the schedule too. Start any time between 5:15am and 6:45 on Tue/Thu and Sat 7:30am. Triathlons are much more enjoyable when you swim and feel strong coming out of the water.

I never had many problems with this gym, but there were two particular problems that never seem to get resolved.\r
\r
1:) The treadmills are plugged into an adapter with a lower power rating than what the machines are designed to use. This

I don't think I've ever been in a worse gym and I've been to several in four states. It's not clean, the staff is rude and unhelpful, they don't know how to properly train people on equipment, the place in general was gloomy and poorly lite, the pool was never at a proper temperature...either too hot or too cold, I NEVER saw anyone wipe down equipment. I could go on and on. Just do NOT join here. OH! I also had to cancel my credit card to cancel my membership. BAD place!!

I would advise anyone to NOT GO THERE!!! If I had the choice to give this place a NEGATIVE review, I would. I can't say enough about how bad this place is, but I'm going to try if it will save anyone else from making the mistake of joining....DO NOT do it!!\n\nI joined with two friends and we were SO sorry we did after going there for about a year or more. First...we had to cancel our debit cards and get new ones to get them to stop taking payments out even after giving them the 45 (yes, FORTY FIVE!!!) days notice of cancellation.\n\nSecond...the place is NOT clean. I never saw anyone wiping down equipment...EVER!! There were even times when I found sticky stuff...YUCK...on some equipment. I began keeping my eyes open and NO ONE EVER wiped off any equipment...even the people who sweat all over it. I began taking my own wipes.\n\nThird....the staff is very rude and uncaring. No one knows what they are doing to train you properly on the equipment and that could cause injuries. You can PAY for a personal trainer....but I don't believe there is anyone there knowledgeable enough to even BE one...it scared me for new people coming in. I saw many people misusing the equipment. If you ask someone, they don't even seem to care and don't even show you the right way to use the equipment.\n\nFourth....the pool temperature is NOT regulated right. One time it's way too hot and the next it's so cold that people walk out....we saw people walk out of the pool many times either sweating as soon as you walk in or it being so cold you just couldn't stand it.\n\nFifth....we tried some of the classes...water aerobics, floor aerobics, yoga and Zumba. In water aerobics, it's either too slow or too fast. The ""trainers"" don't pay attention to ones who can't keep up or when it's so slow you're bored. In the other classes, they don't show beginners what to do...they just behave like you should know what to do or keep up with everyone else even if you are new to the classes. They have a ""Women's Center"" in the very back...it's supposed to be sort of like Curves....but there's hardly ever anyone in there....and there is NO trainer in there. Most of the time there was no instruction....go to next station...and you had to go over and try and figure out how to turn it on. Then you couldn't find anyone to come help when you'd go look. They are all visiting at the front desk or someplace where you can't find them....who knows.\n\nSixth....it's very gloomy there. The lighting is not good and they keep a radio on the same station all the time. It's not the kind that motivates you as you workout. It's just NOT a fun place to be...the atmosphere is just not fun at all. And, as someone else said here, it's cold in the winter and hot in the summer. I almost passed out on an elliptical machine one day and went to a fan and pointed it toward the equipment. Don't bother to ask if they could turn the AC up, you'll just get a grumpy reply or attitude and they won't do it anyway.\n\nI could go on and on about how VERY BAD this place is trainer wise, cleanliness wise, rudeness and not caring and all the other....but I will just say if you value your workouts AND your health and well being....DO NOT GO TO METRO SPORTS!!!! IT IS NOT A GOOD PLACE TO BE!!

Signing up for a one year membership was the biggest mistake. Really grungy feel to the place. Things getting stolen out of lockers was a HUGE problem and they didn't do anything about it. Would highly recommend finding another place. I agree the owner is desperate to milk every dollar possible out of you. They have a policy that you have to tell them 45 days in advance that you want to end your membership, and if for example you tell them only 30 days in advance, they'll charge you for those extra 15 days. That's not good business. Also if you move away too bad. I think their policy is you have to move further than 45 miles away before they'll allow you to teminate your membership without penalty. like anyone is going to drive 45 miles to use a gym.

I was a member there for a long time and am thinking of going back. However, one of the water aerobics instructors doesn't seem to ""know her audience"" so to speak. There were older people in there and she kept doing ""double time"" and ""triple time"" moves that NO ONE could keep up with....I saw NO need for that. Showing off? I don't know, but you should keep your instructions geared to the people you are instructing. Also, sometimes the water was WAY too cold and other times WAY to hot...you either shivered or begin to sweat the minute you got into the pool. I almost passed out a couple of times and others just left sometimes. Then need to improve that AND that instructor should know better.

The teachers are awesome for Showtime Production studio and the studio's prices are reasonable compared to other dance studios; however, the technology for making payments is completely outdated. For example, when I make a payment, I have to wait for them to write out a receipt for payment. It may not seem like a big deal but I think it is time consuming and outdated to keep track of your monthly payments.\n\n Another example of their outdated payment tracking system is I made the mistake of writing a check out to ""Metrosports""; which was supposed to be made out to ""Showtime Productions"" for the dance studio. The check was cashed but I was still sent a bill for my daughter's dance class and a late fee stating I did not pay. I called the manager back and explained I paid for the month. She said she could not find the payment, I looked at my banking statement and I explained to her the check was cashed. She wanted me to provide her proof of the check and I refused because that was not my job to keep track of their checks. It was finally resolved, because she took the effort to access and review ""metrosports"" banking account.\n\nIn addition, the Manager who runs the place is so ""money hungry"", that she overcharges ($50) for the recital fee as compared to Nautilus dance studio recital fee is $30. Not only does she overcharge for the recital fee, she try to assess a late fee for the recital fee and she only provides registration info stating a late fee is assessed for late monthly dance fees. \n\nThe parking situation at Metrosports is atrocious especially in the winter time when ice or snow is covering the hillside parking lot. We slid down the hill in the winter and almost get hit by other cars weekly. \n\nI recommend paying a little more and taking your child to another studio or to Nautilus where recital fees are cheaper. The lady at Nautilus that runs the dance program is very kind, nice and is passionate about her work with the girls.

Take my advice about Showtime Productions because i have been dancing there since i was 4.The teachers are nice, it is NOT overpriced, the costumes are great and not too old for young children, there are always TONS of great dances, and You can choose between being a competition dancer or just doing a dance or two for Recital. I have been dancing for 5 years and have been competing for 3 years. It is a great experience and it's fun for little kids. You have to be 3 or older to start dancing and competing. Also, if you choose to compete, the youngest child has to be on the stage at least 75% of the time,( this is for people that if you have the youngest child your child has to know either 75% of the dance or the whole dance.) The staff can have funny jokes sometimes, but they are nice. I danced with someone who works there now and still dances. I might be 9 but let me tell you along with this is Barb, the owner. She's crazy, but great. All the dancers are nice too. They're considerate of each other and the staff and are really nice to the teachers. The teachers choreograph great dances, ( like circus, mix it up,steam heat, Chantilly lace, shiny silk stockings,Diamonds are a girl's best friend, little more action, walkin' on sunshine, wild one, since you been gone, vapor mist, Lights , Gordon vs. Jr. , and some others are some of this years competition dances solos and duets also for recital.) It's really fun. If your child(ren) want to learn to dance i suggest Showtime Productions! They also have a great fitness center and you can become a member, my parents did,and they're glad they did because they're in better shape than ever. They even have a pool (indoors)!

I would not recommend this place to anyone with a young child wanting to start dance. The owner/instructor is very rude and not good with small children and the costuming is a little to grown up for young children.
