I was looking for a new vet because my previous one at Northern Illinois Cat Clinic was simply too expensive. I discovered Acacia when I did a Google search for vets in the nearby area, and found that this clinic had solid five-star ratings on http://insiderpages.com and http://dexknows.com.

Scheduling an appointment was an simple affair. I left a message after hours and Dr. Radasch returned my call... at 6:30AM. Which was fine, though I was a bit surprised, but then he does run clinic hours early (from 7ish to 4pm?), so don't be alarmed if you get any early return calls.

The clinic is located conveniently on the southeast corner of Washington and 21/Milwaukee Ave, in the shopping area directly facing Washington St. The facility itself is very simple and clean. Dr. Radasch sometimes has his friendly dog in the back area of the clinic with him, but never allows the dog anywhere near the examination rooms, which are always mindfully kept shut.

The examination rooms do not have chairs, but you won't need them - Dr. Radasch is very efficient. I had gone in for my cat's annual exam, and also to check for urinary problems since my cat had recently eliminated outside the box (HIGHLY unusual for him). My appointment was at 9:00am - Dr. Radasch checked my cat for general health (heart rate, glands, kidneys, liver), extracted a urine sample from the bladder, created a wet mount to detect urinary stones, invited me to view at the uroliths under the microscope, gave my cat an antibiotic shot, gave me a box of oral antibiotics to give to my cat, had me pay and reschedule the follow-up appointment - and I was out the door by 9:30am. This all cost me $149.00, which seems reasonable to me for the quality and transparency of services rendered.

Dr. Radasch is an energetic man who is genuinely enthusiastic about his work. I appreciate his expert, no-frills approach to the care of my pet. I am currently enrolled in a microbiology course, so I appreciate that he let me look under the microscope for myself. There's really no vet I trust better right now.

EDIT: The follow-up appointment was for an x-ray to confirm the presence of stones in the urinary tract. The medications appeared to be effective, because there were no crystals found. This entire appointment took twenty minutes and cost me $130. I am to book another appointment for my cat two weeks after the medication runs out, to make sure the crystals are really all gone.

I am new customer to Acacia Animal Clinic, my dog used to be seen by a local competitor and after 3 months of my pet having jaw pain and difficulty opening her mouth and nothing getting done I decided to transfer to Dr. Radasch, and within 5 minutes he knew exactly what to do and advised a muscle biopsy of her mouth, and the report came back exactly what he said to me, an immune response called myositis and we started to treat her right away and several days later she is back to normal, THANK YOU to the entire staff

I just got back from having Dr. Radasch take care of my dog and I AM IMPRESSED THAT HE TURNED DOWN THE LADY WITH THE PIT BULL. The last time I looked this was still a FREE country and Dr. Radasch can make the GOD GIVEN RIGHT to turn down a PIT BULL. I do not want a pit bull in the same waiting room with my cat. (period)

I took the recommendation of a co worker and made an appointment with Acacia Animal Clinic. The Experience was phenomenal, very courteous staff and an extremely sanitary clinic. The Veterinarian was a pleasure to work with and I will be using Acacia Animal Clinic for all my veterinary needs.

I have never been to Acacia Clinic but Dr.Radash was my vet when he was at CampMcdonald Animal Clinic in Prospect Heights. You will not find a better, more compassionate, man as Dr.Scott! ( thats what we called himat the other place) I had a bengal cat that came down with a mysterious disease. DR. SCOTT called the breeder, called the universities in Georgia, other vets just trying to help Ginghis. The breeder was so rude, and finally told DR, Scott all of the kittens had this virus? and died. She told him to send his body back.Ginghis didn't die, he lived to be 11years old when the virus over took him. Dr. Scott went beyond what any other vet would do!!! I am going to switch to him. Dr. Scott if you read this I have another bengal, and others we will be seeing you! Debbie

My Brother faithfully has been going to Acacia for all three of his dogs and two cats. I just bought my first puppy and he sent me to Dr. Radasch. The office assistant. was very nice and the doctor was very patient with me and all my questions. The doctor gave my puppy the most thorough exam. He asked everything about the history and even called the breeder for names of vaccines given. I have never heard of any vet around this area go to that extent. I am recommending him to everyone I know. He goes the extra distance for his clients.

Pros: Really take the time to listen

I've been a resident of Gurnee for the last 7yrs and have always taken my pets to this clinic. Usually our visits there are for routine vaccines and yearly exams. Until recently one of my dogs became ill. Dr. Radasch was able to see her immediately, which is one thing that I love about this clinic. He ran blood work and a urine sample in the clinic resulting in a speedy and accurate diagnosis. The doctor as usual was very thorough and caring. I don't know what I would have done that day without Dr. Radasch.

I recently moved to Gurnee, I began looking for a veterinary hospital right away. I visited half a dozen clinics by just walking in without notice and was not very pleased with the greetings. I decided to ask my neighbor who they used for veterinary services and they said Acacia Animal Clinic and were clients of Dr. Radasch for over 5 years and were extremely happy with his care of their dogs. I decided to visit Acacia Animal Clinic unannounced and from the second I walked in I knew this clinic was head and shoulders above any of the others I had previously visited. Today was my first appointment and was completely satisfied with the care and concern given to my dogs by the entire clinic. I like my neighbor will be a loyal client and will refer others to this wonderful veterinary clinic

We have been taking our dogs to this clinic for almost 15 years and had nothing but excellent service and care from Dr. Radasch. We are very impressed by his diagnostic skills and his pragmatic approach to our dog??s care. About 5 years ago while on vacation in Florida our Schnauzer, Max, who was very ill required treatment at an Emergency Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Radasch maintained constant contact with us and communicated with the Florida staff throughout Max??s treatment. This type of commitment to his patients impressed us. The veterinary staff in Florida told us how fortunate we were to have such a knowledgeable individual taking care of our dog. They also said that the kind of access we had to Dr. Radasch was often not present in larger Veterinary practices. We have referred several friends to Acacia and they have been very happy with the treatment they have received.

This is not the cheapest animal clinic around, but the vet takes great care of my dogs and is very good with animals who are afraid. He'll go the extra mile for his patients and is very picky about the medications used to treat animals, that theya re the very freshest available and thoroughly tested (as well as on the market for a while) prior to prescribing them.

I have a dog who hates medicine and he gets him to eat his Heartworm preventaive for me every month free of charge. I have one of those dogs that just won't take medications, regardless of what they are wrapped in.

This animal clinic is operated by a single veterinary who is dedicated to animals well being. The prices are comparable to other clinics. The service is phenominal. Hours of operation are normal but if needed the veterinary is reachable on call and will come in.
