I have been living in Chambana for 7 years now, and never trusted anyone with my car. I always hired family or friends to do cheap, quick fixes that were just as good of a job, or I would take my car to Chicago. Then I needed to find a place I could trust, so I did a little research. I found KCM and decided to give them a try, I was amazed at how well they treated me. What I loved most was the diversity in the workplace. There were blacks and whites working together, as well as women, which makes me trust them even more. I am a white woman who grew up in Chicago area, so I have always only trusted black Chicago mechanics because they tend to do better jobs for cheaper than most "professional" places. So that was a big plus for KCM, that they work together, you don't have to worry about racism, or sexism. I have experienced many occasions where people would try to sell me stuff I know I don't know just because I am a woman. At KCM, the mechanic even let me go back to the garage and he SHOWED me the things that were wrong with my car, as well as explained to me what he was going to do and why it would need to get done. And when there were things that did not NEED to get done, but SHOULD get fixed, he did not pressure me to do so when I told him I'd prefer to wait on the other stuff. He also found something with my tire that the last place didn't do right, and he may have saved my life. If not, my tire would have flown off, and I have had that happen to me before, so I appreciated that. Finally, what was BEST about this place, is that the man did not charge me any labor. I could not believe that. The woman told me my total was "67" dollars (for a "70 dollar" part). I asked her "why is it that low? What's in it for him?" She said, "he's just a really nice guy". Finally, she said that he gets discounts on the parts which is why I paid less there than I would have if I had bought the part from Auto Zone and done it myself. So you want a trustworthy, family owned business, go to KCM!
