This is one of the best thrift stores in the area. It is clean and organized. The prices are higher than some of the other "church run" stores, but they are much more affordable than Goodwill. They have an excellent selection and high turn over of new merchandise. The parking is a little tricky, but nothing someone with a drivers license shouldn't be able to handle.

I never give to the salvation Army. They are one of the biggest non taxed companies in the world. There shops are run on pure commercial lines and as has been said, they are expensive. In New Zealand, everything they do has to be paid for by either the government or donation. There own substantial holdings are never touched. Just have a look at the property they own. Unlike other churches, all of there buildings are modern and built on valuable sites, to appreciate.

I agree that their parking lot is soooo bad!! I used to think that the Salvation Army was a organization that would help if help was needed in certain cercumstances; but I now know that they are in it for the $$ just like most other businesses. I have went to them a few times in desperate need of some help for maybe a baby bed for my son or some kind of furniture that I needed at that time because I was laid off my job, or clothing, and they always told me there was NOTHING they can do! They recieve furniture, clothing, and houshold things FREE from generous people who think they are doing good and helping people and when people go to them for help they get the door slammed in their face! I begged the manager to help me once, I told her that I would WORK for the item I needed or if she would just give me a discount because I couldn't afford it..(they charge high prices for things they get for free)..she said "There is nothing I can do,if you wait until Monday it will be on sale for 1/2 off and no one will buy it before then." I reluctantly agreed because I needed the item then. I went home and called a few people I knew and asked to borrow the $$ so I could get what I needed because I couldn't wait until Monday and when I went back to the store to get the item, it was sold, that very same day, after the manager told me it wouldnt. I cried because I really needed that and just sat on a couch in the store and cried for awhile and the manager went out of her way to avoid me and wouldnt' make eye contact or even apologize. I guess she didn't have a heart because she knew I desperately needed that and begged her for it earlier that day.
To top it off they are rude and wont let you use the restroom thats in the back of the store. If you are in the store and your kid needs to use the restroom (kids cant hold it sometimes) they give you a mean look and say, "sorry, take him across the street or something" My kid was crying he had to pee so bad and they would'nt let him. Isnt that just hateful? I would Not recommend this store and would not donate here or buy here!! Donate to a church that cares not this place!! I even quit putting money in their bellringer containers after these incidents. I will donate to a place that actually helps people and does it with a smile.

This Salvation Army is one of the Cleaner stores that I have been in around this area. They generally have a good selection of clothes. Their prices seem to be getting higher but are generally cheaper than Goodwill. I do have to complain about their parking. It is pretty difficult getting in and out of their parking lot.
