2000 Xterra had a noise that Nissan dealer diagnosized as a crack in the manifold, with repairs estimated around $700. Per recommendation through a Glen Ellyn resident (area where I live) My wife drove the car to Gearhead for a second opinion.
Gearhead repaired problem in half an hour for free, noting that the problem was a rattling noise due to loose bolds on a part called the lower heating plate. That was 7 months ago and noise never came back.
