my husband and i wanted to do something different for our anniversary. we found a babysitter and decided to spend the night at the radisson. best thing we ever did. our room was so nice and it smelled so good. everything was so clean. we even ordered room service, we felt so pampered. it was a bit pricey but worth every penny. it was our best get away yet. we will be going back there real soon.

PROS: very nice rooms
CONS: very pricey

On a recent business trip I needed accommodations near the magnificent mile. A colleague of mine recommended the Crowne Plaza Avenue Hotel as a nearby option that others have used from the company. On the two nights i was there I found the staff to be helpful and friendly. And the food in the Pub was great! So if you are looking for a nice place, at a reasonable price in downtown Chicago - I would recommend the Avenue Hotel.

We had a family reunion in Chicago and were looking for a place that was close to Magnificent Mile, Navy Pier and all of the wonderful stores and museums that you must see during your stay in Chicago. We found all that and more at The Avenue Hotel Crowne Plaza. The rooms were very large and decorated with taste and style. Everything felt and looked clean and every member of the hotel smiled and said hello when they saw you. Really made it feel homey. Thank you for a great downtown Chicago stay. We'll be back to the Avenue Hotel Crowne Plaza.

This was not our first visit to the Avenue Crowne Plaza Hotel and certainly won't be our last. My son is attending college in Chicago so we come out to visit him as often as we can. He was the one that told us to check this hotel out as his school had some sort of event at The Avenue that apparently was quite impressive. Everyone is so kind and helpful...smiling and greeting guests..it's so nice to see and hear. The housekeeping team is very gracious and they do an amazing job keeping the rooms and hotel spotless. I commend them as it's not an easy task to keep a busy hotel looking to impeccable. We received the most restful sleep, many of the reviews mention the great beds and they are (I found myself trying to find the manufacturers name as I want one!). Looking forward to coming back again.

I booked this hotel thru the Crowne Plaza website as I'm a points member. Wanted to see the Cubs game and thought the Avenue Hotel in downtown Chicago was the way to go. I was right. Booked the one bedroom suite as it was my wife and small child traveling with me. Wanted lots of room to stretch out and got that in this room. Heck was bigger than my first apartment! Now my wife wants us to buy zebra chairs as they were so comfortable. Not sure zebra print will work in our house, but it certainly works at the Avenue Hotel. The room was well kept - looks like it was recently remodeled and was very clean. \r\nOrdered room service for breakfast and it arrived hot and correct. Both pet peeves of mine! Room service always seems to be cold and wrong, but not here. Thank you!\r\nThe beds were really comfortable which helped for a nice restful sleep. hey by the way the reviews about the city noise...I'd like to say the dogs barking in my neighborhood make more noise than I heard at the hotel. The people that make those comments must live in a commune or something! \r\nI really like this place, it's comfortable...not like walking into some of those hotels that make you feel like you can't sit on the furniture (like in grandma's house!). Everyone we encountered was friendly, smiling and very helpful. Unfortunately too helpful sometimes (they pointed out the American Girl store..yikes! didn't know a doll could cost so much!) But the smile on my kids face was worth any price :)\r\nThank you Avenue Hotel - we'll be back.

This hotel was just amazing! I did a lot of research for my trip to Chicago and the Avenue Hotel Crowne Plaza just kept coming up. The reviews are very favorable to this hotel and I can see why. The employees really take pride in working here, that is apparent with the great service you receive. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Lots of room to move around in and not feel like you are going to run into each other. The fitness center has everything you need to stay fit while away from home...the equipment worked..and it was really clean. So many hotel gyms seems to be lack luster, but not this one. Easy walking distance to all of the shopping and sites. The front desk and conceirge gave us some great suggestions for restaurants and other things to do that are ""non touristy"".\r\nI will be back to the Crowne Plaza Avenue when visiting Chicago.

I just have to share with everyone what a wonderful time the family had at the Avenue Hotel in Chicago. At the last minute my parents called a ""all hands on deck"" family reunion. We selected to take this opportunity and make a full vacation out of it so instead of staying with the folks we selected a hotel. I'm an internet gal---search things to death sometimes. But heck I just want to get the best value for my hard earned money!\r\n\r\nAfter much internet research on Tripadvisor, Priceline, Travelocity, Kayak and who knows how many other places we decided on the downtown Crowne Plaza Avenue Hotel. \r\n\r\nFront Desk: Very accomodating. Check in went quickly and they addressed me by name, which is always so nice. We had some questions about the room types when I made the reservation and they took the time to explain the difference of each. The family theme room sounded so cool.\r\n\r\nRoom: Wow! Talk about a kid friendly environment! Children's books, beanbags (which I think I sat in more than the kids), Wii, chalk boards and more! I finally sat down and took the time to play a game on the Wii system - kids naturally won but it was fun anyway! The beds are really comfortable and certainly enough room for a two adults and two kids to move around in. The bathrooms are updated and I just loved the bath products they had in there. So many hotels put that flowery yucky smelling shampoo and soap in the room. I mean who wants to smell like a french brothel???? Not at the Avenue - nice subtle organic shampoo!\r\n\r\nFood: Because we were here for a family reunion much of the eating took place at the parents. However we did squeeze a meal in at the Elephant & Castle Bar. Big variety of things to select from and great kid friendly menu. We had the fish and chips, burgers and salad. The waiter said the bangers and mash were the big hit but just couldn't talk the kids into that!\r\n\r\nOverall: The downtown location of the Avenue is perfect - easy walking distance of anything you'd want to do. Hotel is clean and the staff was very accomodating and friendly.\r\n\r\nThe family and I will be back to Chicago and the Crowne Plaza Avenue

Im a priority club member so always trying to stay someplace that I can collect points. Downtown Chicago has several options so I researched many of them on the web, and found time and time again the Avenue Crowne Plaza was coming up with positive feedback. Sure I saw the reviews about noise, but come on people its downtown Chicago what do you expect? I can attest that the staff was incredibly friendly from check in to check out. The front desk was accommodating with my special requests and didnt make me feel like I was inconveniencing them at all. My room was huge, which is so nice while traveling on business. You have a place to relaxa place to workand a place to sleep. You dont have to do it all while propped up in your bed like most other hotels. The room was spotless and Im big on that! I dont keep my home messy so I certainly dont want to pay money and stay in a place thats messy. Everyone I passed in the hall smiled and said hello, wishing me a good day continuously. I really felt like my business was appreciated and with so many options that is important. The restaurant was good, lots of variety and the hotel is in easy walking distance to all of the hot spots in Chicago. Ill tell ya, some of those other hotels in Chicago could take some lessons in friendliness and customer service from the Crowne Plaza Avenue Hotel. Thank you for making my time away from home incredibly enjoyable.

My youngest daughter and I decided a mother/daughter trip to downtown Chicago was in order. We packed up the bags, with plenty of empty ones to bring home all the wonderful finds at Filenes for me and American Girl for her. Off to Chicago for shopping. I put my husband in charge of finding a place to stay as he often travels to downtown Chicago on business. He referred us to the Avenue Crowne Plaza Hotel which was close to both Filene's and American Girl. He says hes always right and now I believe him! An amazing downtown location in Chicago near the infamous Michigan Avenue walking distance to anything you could dream of needing! We were booked into a one bedroom suite with breathtaking views of the Lake Michigan and the city that awaited our credit card usage. The suite was so roomy, immaculate and comfortable. Everything one would need to entertain yound and old. My daughter was impressed by her dads good taste! You can tell the staff takes great pride in the hotel. Not an employee passed us without a smile and a hello. They were also so helpful at the Avenue Crowne, providing us with all sorts of suggestions on where to shop, what to see and how to find the great deals. Even the maintenance guy chimed in on where we should go for the famous Chicago pizza and boy was he right (Lou Malnatis)! We cant recommend this hotel enough. It made such a great impression on our family that I know well be back the Avenue Crowne Plaza many times over.

\r\nWe are from suburban Chicago and frequently spend the weekend in the city. The Crowne Plaza Hotel is a wonderful hotel. It has a great location, just a short walk to Michigan Avenue, Old Water Tower, Navy Pier, shops, restaurants, etc. The Crowne Plazas intimate feel is ideal for a couples weekend. The rooms are great, the beds out of this world, the rates more than reasonable and the service is top-notch. Dont forget to try the Elephant & Castle Pub on the first floor for some great scotch! We cant wait to come back soon!\r\n

The Avenue Hotel is a great business hotel with an unbeatable location and great amenities. The rooms were top-notch and everything about my visit went smoothly. \r\nThe hotel is a short walk to the Magnificent Mile and all the shops and restaurants you could want. If not for my business trip and more personal time was available it would have been ideal. I must make a point of making it back here for a more relaxing trip in the near future.\r\n\r\nMy room was clean, comfortable and had a great view. The amenities were great and the bed was unbelieveable. I dont remember ever having such a good nights sleep in a hotel much less on a business trip. The staff at the Avenue hotel were wonderful. From the front desk staff to the bellmen, guest services and housekeeping, the entire crew went out of their way to assist with plans both inside and outside of the hotel, and the hotel bar and its wait staff are experts at serving business groups -- attentive but not overbearing.\r\n\r\nIn general, my stay at the Avenue Hotel was exceptionally smooth and productive. Our business meetings went smoothly, the rooms themselves were comfortable and had all the up to date equipment for presentations. I would recommend this hotel to any business group, but also to any tourist looking for a hotel convenient to many popular downtown Chicago spots! \r\n

I travel to Chicago twice a year for business and have chosen the Avenue Hotel for the past four trips. Coming from San Francisco my standards are high and I find the Avenue offers several major pluses. First, its location to the Magnificent Mile cant be beat. Second, the upgraded room that I received on two of my last four visits was large by Chicago standard and has all the amenities that a business traveler or serious shopper expects of a first class hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was also very nice and incredibly clean. My wakeup calls were delivered on time and with a friendly voice. Staff at the Avenue Hotel is friendly, accommodating and well trained in customer service. Third, with rooms located on the higher floors the view is incredible. I didn't try the health club, which has drawn a few negative comments on this website, but it looked completely acceptable. Overall I am a fan of this hotel and plan to return again.\r\n

Stayed two nights with the better half for a birthday weekend in the city, and we were very pleased with this hotel. Prior to our arrival we had already decided to request an upgrade - after all it was my birthday. When checking in they immediately upgraded us to a corner suite with amazing views. You know I had read on this site that previous guests had been upgraded without asking but I tend to be pessimistic and didnt think it possible well I guess I was wrong. Our room was spotless, and very well appointed. The robes were out of this world soft and the bed I dont think I have ever slept that good in a hotel before. The staff was always friendly and we were always greeted with a ""hello"" and a smile when passing in the hallway. Despite the great room and friendly staff, the main attraction of the Avenue Hotel is the location - just steps from some of Chicago's most iconic destinations. Overall, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.\r\n\r\n

I have stayed in many, many topnotch hotels throughout the United States and none had a more accommodating, friendly and professional staff as what I found at the Avenue Hotel in Downtown Chicago.\r\nI just cannot give the management enough credit for how trained their staff is and how effortlessly they handled our business meeting. I was part of a group of over 50+ attendees and the Avenue Hotel downtown Chicago was well suited and prepared to handle our needs as a group as well as individually. The staff never missed an opportunity to greet me and seemed genuine when asking if I was enjoying my stay. I feel if my answer would have been no, they would have taken immediate action to see how they could make it better. As for the meeting accommodations they were exceptional with all the high tech gadgets you could ask for to make the meeting flawless. I cant forget to mention that the food served during our meetings was delicious! Believe me when I say you can actually eat the food during a business meeting in Chicagos Avenue Hotel. \r\nI spent 3 days here and couldnt think of a more wonderful place to be on business. My room was phenomenal; I actually stayed in one of their tech rooms. You need to see it to believe it, complimentary high speed wireless, iMac computer, color printer and even a convenient docking station for my iPod. The room was clean; bed was out of this world, pillows were just right, plenty of towels and a roomy bathroom as well. I would absolutely rate the Chicago Avenue Hotel one of the best I have visited in terms of service, staff and accommodations. When my business brings me back to Chicago, Avenue Hotel is where Ill stay. \r\n\r\n

\r\nMy husband travels frequently for business, and stays at the Avenue Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. With our hectic work schedules, we decided to combine a business trip with a romantic get-a-away for our fifth anniversary. I thought the Avenue Hotel would be a good choice since it looked so inviting on the website, and my husband said he found the rooms comfortable and the staff very friendly. To celebrate this special occasion, my husband booked a deluxe room. Our room was lovely and well furnished and the Zebra chair was right up my ally. \r\n\r\nOur weekend included fine dinning and shopping just steps away on the Magnificent Mile. The only bad thing was there were too many shoppers due to the holiday season, but that was to be expected I guess. There was also a wedding at the hotel the weekend we were there and the whole place looked beautiful and reminded us of the reason for our trip ? our Fifth Wedding Anniversary. The Bride and Groom were so cute and we were able to stop them in the foyer and wish them well.\r\n\r\nIf you are going to Chicago the Avenue Hotel is the perfect place to stay for business or pleasure?you will not be sorry.\r\n

Our family travels quite a bit so we've had lots of hotel ""experiences"". The Avenue Hotel in Chicago was one of our most pleasant stays. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel clean. Each employee that we encountered seemed to enjoy their work and performed in top form. I believe this also reflects on the management - happy work environments create happy workers! The view from the Sky Lounge on the 40th floor is breathtaking, and we enjoyed our breakfast there each morning before venturing out for the day, even the young ones thought it was cool. This hotel is in the heart of it all and within walking distance to great shopping, site seeing, and restaurants. I could go on and on but you really need to see it for yourself. If you go to Chicago stay at the Avenue Hotel! The Jones family will definitely be back.

Who gets to spend much time in the room during a meeting? The rooms need to be clean and comfortable, which they were. But I highly recommend the Radisson for business meetings. The staff is extremely attentive and responsive to your needs and will make sure that every thing is the way you want it. The Symphony Ballroom where we held our meeting was spacious and well equipped
