I was contacted by Lakeshore who had seen my resume on Monster and said we have the perfect position for you and you would fit right in, etc., I went on the interview only to have complete radio silence afterwards! I called, emailed, left several messages, but nobody returned my call. I have worked with staffing agencies in the past but never one like this where I cannot get ahold of my recruiter or branch mgr. I am disgusted with their lack of courtesy and professionalism! I guess if you don't fit in, stay away from this firm, they have no business dealing with folks trying to find a job in this market and to be treated like crap.

Bad news is delivered dipped in warm maple syrup and ice cream. My branch captain does listen when you ask questions and ask for consideration, even though the answer is almost consistently negative.

If a client flunks you out of one assignment, (I worked one where everyone I met,was a contractor, even my supervisors and floor manager) you definitely will not be offered another assignment with any meat on the bones. This is the warning to the new or prospective "contract 'employee'": you'd better be really good, or else your "career" with the company will go nowhere. A year after being dumped by one of Lakeshore's clients I have not been offered more than two menial one-day assignments doing inventory work with a supermarket, and an eight dollar an hour retail warehouse temp position where you're told to throw your coat on the floor when you come in because they're too cheap to install coat racks.. If you blow your one chance or simply aren''t judged "good enough" by the client, you;ll endure the humiliation of having to call every week to check for more work you're not going to get just to qualify for unemployment. And if they catch you skipping calling in for being discouraged by no results, get ready to have to appeal!

Don't bother applying for a "contractor" position. Wait for a "real" employer to offer you a job that involves some commitment and confidence on their part.

Advice to Senior Management: please, if you don't think an employee is worth giving another assignment, be honest and say so and "fire" them so they can seek meaningful work opportunities somewhere else without having to call in to a place where the agency has already decided you aren't worth a hoot.

"Please release me, let me go."

I also had a similar experience with Lakeshore Staffing. I explained that I would be moving to the area and was flying in for 1 week to research jobs and would like to do a preliminary interview and could begin within a few weeks. I was told I could not be paired with a position until nearer to my start date, but I could come to an interview to begin the process. I then needed to reschedule my appointment for a day later due to flight weather conditions and was told the position I wanted was filled and they would be canceling altogether. This was a big surprise to me as I had been under the previous understanding that I would be meeting about any openings that would come in the next few weeks. I emailed back simply questioning and was told my contact would be out of town and could no longer help me.

Please do not use Lakeshore, they are a joke and really put my family in financial ruins. I went through them for a job that was set up through a friend at at financial company. They called me 1 week before the job was supposed to start and said I could not start. This was purely for commission not going to be paid to them as they were not the ones who found me. I called a big wig at the company and her main objective was to see if I knew some bigger clients, once she ruled that out she would not talk to me. They ran a background check that went back 17 years! To a dorm room misdemeanor and a DUI when I was 18, I'm 37 now and have not gotten in trouble since. The lady who called me about this was rude and acted like I was a delinquent...I couldn't believe it. I even went to a lawyer. Then they pulled a credit report and sent that to me... I've been laid off for 2 years! It wasn't even that bad, no bankruptcy or foreclosure just a low score. After this fiasco I got a job with the top government entity in the US after that (they only check 10 year history) which makes sense. Lakeshore, your staff is rude and if you want to you really try to hurt innocent people just trying to get a job.

This staffing agency is seemingly the worst agency ever. I worked on an assignment with them and at first everything was just fine they even seemed friendly, sincere, and heartfelt. A few months down the line the things took a turn for the worst. Lakeshore began messing up my checks overpaying and underpaying and when I was overpaid they'd take the cuts out of my check. I can distinctly recall a time where I wasn't even paid at all! About 11 months into my employment A series of disasters began happening in my life which grossly affected my job performance my assignment was terminated and I was out of work. To be fair Lakeshore waited some time before giving me the boot and were very patient with my situation but when i filed for unemployment thats when all hell broke loose. I was required to call in my availability every week which is pretty stupid considering they NEVER have any assignments. They gave me hell each week or at least twice a month trying to combat my availability so they wouldn't have to pay me. They don't give ANY of their employers unemployment without giving them hell. Lakeshore is so petty and incompetent do yourself a FAVOR and DON'T EVER WORK THROUGH THEM!!! I am still battling this company for unemployment and I am trying so DESPERATELY to find another job

Lakeshore Staffing only cares about its internal employees. I worked an assignment with them and they eventually laid me off for lack of work. I filed for unemployment after being laid off. A few months later, I am being contacted by Lakeshore staffing and unemployment because they claim that I was not seeking additional work. I had already found another job on my own. They appealed my unemployment and now I owe for over 3 thousand dollars in back pay which I think is unfair. I contacted my staffing person with Lakeshore and asked her to have a heart. She said that there was nothing she could do/ didn't care. After being employed with my new job for 3 months they also laid me off because the company wasn't getting business. I tried to file for unemployment but was denied due to the previous claim with Lakeshore. Long story short, I am now homeless with no job, no money, no unemployment, nothing. I also have a small child. Lakeshore Staffing is a bad decision. I knew that I should not have taken the job with them last year but I was so desperate to find work that I took anything that came my way.

I think Lakes Shore staffing in Schaumburg, IL is a total scam. So I applyed for this job and and they called me to come in and I did. When I went in for the interview suddenly that position is looking for more experience and they can only find me contracting work, seriously what a joke they are, I went through paige staffing now and I like them better.

I worked a contract assignment for Lakeshore Financial Staffing when this division first started. I worked continuously for them for over 3 years, the last 2 years plus, at a very large bank. The bank had a very complex project going on at the time. During this time, I rarely worked under 50 hours per week, giving Lakeshore the opportunity to bill overtime throughout most of the project. I did not miss more than three days, during the entire project. I was promoted twice while at the bank and had received approximately a 50% increase in salary by the end of the project, I give all of this information to support the fact that I did an excellent job for this agency. Lakeshore had at least 15 accounting professionals on this project and when the banking unit left Chicago, I was the last employee to leave. The bank offered me a position and relocation which I turned down (big mistake, very big mistake). I mistakenly thought because of my performance and very good feedback from the client that Lakeshore would surely place me (NOT). I called the agency several times after the end of the project and then periodically, at the end of projects that I worked for other agencies. I was never again placed and this too with a sterling record. The person who did not get a call back should not feel badly after hearing my experience. I am currently unemployed and I did not even think to call Lakeshore. There are several agencies out there and it is true that most of them are bombarded with resumes'. I must conclude by saying that my experience with Lakeshore while I was on their payroll was a good one. My issue came when I was off of the payroll and this happened a long time ago, The majority of the staff was very professional at the time.

I had the same bad experience...The office here placed me with a company which ended up not working out.
Afterwards, in applying for jobs, I have found that Lakeshore now will no longer deal with me, not contacting me for jobs I have applied to that I am qualified for or responding to me when I contact them.
Not only that but I ended up being laid off of the job I got afterwards and Lakeshore never declared my wages in order to be considered for my unemployment compensation. I had to jump through hoops to get the issue resolved and Lakeshore did absolutely nothing to help, giving me the run around and just not responding.
One of the worst employment agencies I have dealt with....much more concerned with the company than the individuals they place.
I tell anyone and everyone who I come in contact with now asking for recommendations to avoid Lakeshore, they are better off doing it themselves than having Lakeshore in the equation.

Lakeshore Staffing is an adequate staffing company, and will neither exceed nor fail to meet your expectations. I have no other opinion about this staffing agency.

I stumbled across this agency after I applied to a position on the internet. After learning more aout the position from a lady at Lakeshore, I decided the position wasn't for me, however, I wanted to still work with them in finding another position. They never called me back or answered my e-mails...even after telling me that I had a great resume and a lot of potential. I can understand if they didnt want to take another individual on, but I wish they would have responded to me. I thought that was very rude.
