I WAS A GIRLS SCOUT WHEN I FIRST GOT TO GO THE MUSEUM OF SCIENCE AND INDUSTRY. NOW I AM IN MY MIDDLEAGE AND TOO DISABLED TO VISIT ANYMORE, BUT I WANT MY GRANCHILDREN TO VISIT. I URGE ANYONE TO DO THESE THINGS WHILE YOU ARE STILL ABLE BECAUSE YOU NEVER

KNOW WHAT MAY HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE.

We bring our children here all the time and they never get tired or it. The children's play area is a giant interactive playroom, with some of the most unique playing equipment I have ever seen. My kids could play there all day. The rest of the museum is also great. Some exhibits of the museum are on the edge of being slightly inappropriate for little children, but thats not really a big deal. If you have little ones, they're easy to avoid. We have fun every time we go and we end each trip at the museum's ice cream parlor.

The Museum of Science and Industry is a great museum. The exhibits are excellent, and their hand-on nature provides a unique perspectice for kids. On our most recent trip, my family really enjoyed the new exhibit on imaging. They have a small food court, which is somewhat expensive, but a good place to grab a quite bite to eat and rest a bit. We love going at Christams time to see the trees around the world exhibit!

This museum is one of the best Chicago has to offer. From longstanding exhibits like the farm with the baby chicks, to newer exhibits like those of the human body, there is something for everyone here. This museum is huge so be prepared for a lot of walking. Coming up, the annual traditon of Christmas Trees Around the World. A beautiful exhibit.

What can you say about the Museum of Science and Indusrty that hasn't already been said. I guess the first thing to be said would be GO NOW! It's really top notch, even the old exhibits like the elements exhibit still inspire, and educate. Old stand by exhibits like the coal mine are still popular so get your place in line early. The new train exhibit is amazing. The attention to detail is mind boggeling! The new u-boat exhibit is spectacular, you should by pass everything and go there first. The food court isn't to shabby either.

If you love learning as much as I do then the Museum of Science and Industry is the place for you. This museum isn't near all the other museums that are located by Soldier Field but it is worth the ride to go to Hyde Park and see it. There is a lot of neat exhibits at the museum such as the Zephyr train, the submarine and the Henry Crown space center. At the space exhibit you can get a look at actual space capsules...The Apollo 8 and the Aurora 7. For more learning, stop into the Omnimax theater to watch an educational film. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for kids.

Devote a day to exploring all the museum has to offer. Great exhibits for both kids and adults. The museum also houses a IMAX theatre. An amazing exhibit to check out is "Body Works" which shows real bodies at work. You can see actual muscle systems and how they move. Very moving exhibit. All time favorite exhibit for children would have to be the chick hatchery; especially if a chick is emerging from the egg. Science right before your eyes.

The Museum of Science and Industry is an absolutely amazing museum. There is so much to see that one is almost overwhelmed. The space center and WWII submarine particularly stand out. The IMAX is wonderful, but is an additional fee (be sure to get your tickets early as it is not uncommon for shows to sell out, especially on the weekend). I minor drawback is that the museum is a little difficult to navigate. Also, if you are there during the Christmas season, be sure to see if they have the display of foreign Christmas tree decorations.

I've been 3 times or more, but this place is always intersting. The Omnimax movies are amazing on a huge screen that covers your whole field of vision. The displays are very interesting (most of them at least) and the special exhibits are world class. This is a must see if you're visiting Chicago and is great for all ages.

Everything about the museum is EXCELLENT. The price is great for the entertainment you get. The exhibits are still entertaining and interesting even after all these years. Plus the extra stuff they add and subtract make your trips always new. Definately the best museum in Chicago Land.

PROS: Everything!
CONS: Nothing!

I've been going to this museum ever since I was a little girl. My last visit was this summer (2005.) BodyWorld was "THE BOMB!) No Nursing or Biology class could beat seeing this. It showed the human body in ways that I could never have imagined. This museum is huge. I could handle walking around better when I was younger. If you're older, you will have to rest in between exhibits. I really don't thing that ANYONE could see the entire museum on one day. They always have new things to see, but I think some exhibits will be there forever. The bathrooms are huge, so, you won't have to wait long. Admission into the museum, as well as to see some of the exhibits, is a little expensive, but admission is free on some days (excluding exhibits and only during some months, so call first.)

The Museum of Science and Industry is just one of those classic places that should be on your must-see list for any Chicago trip. Although some parts are showing their age, they have brought in some new exhibits that are great. One of their new ones has to do with computer-aided manufactering. They have a production line set up making tops. You can actually have a personalized top made as a souvenir! Overall, a great place for all ages!

As a child this was one of my favorite palces to go, and school's would always book an annual field trip there. Sadly, it's been neglected. Every time we visit, half of the displays don't work properly, which can be very frustrating for a child. You'd think a place as well-known as this museum would be better at general upkeep. There are plenty of other museums we prefer.

Museum of Science and Industry is a great place to bring your family. Recently I brought my nephew to see the new submarine (U-505) from the German U Boat. They also have a great exhibit of Robots and history of trains with a large display of model trains. There are so many other exhibits that you can spend the entire days just going through each one. Parking maybe difficult to find but there is always underground parking in Chicago and a quick walk to the Museum.

This is a great museum if youre a science buff. If not there are still a few interesting exhibits you shouldnt miss. A very popular display they had this summer was Body World I didnt get a chance to go see it, but several of my friends said it was incredible displays of the human body. I went a few summers ago to see the Prenatal Development exhibit; it was incredible seeing the stages of fetal development first hand. Im looking forward to returning to see the U-505 Submarine display of the only German submarine in the US.

There is a ton to see here. It would take more than a day to fully do everything. The new exibits are always the best and most innovative. The old ones upstairs seem kinda lame now. The newly housed U 505 exhibit is amazing and almost worth the admission price for the whole place. It took me 2 hours to walk through just the 505 hall. For a few more weeks they have the Bodyworks display which is real human cadavers perserved in interesting disections. If that interests you, then it is very interesting. If you are squeemish, then I would stay away.

The Museum of Science and Industry is basically the best museum in the city. Every exhibit it has is simply amazing from the ones that are always there (the coal mine) to the exhibits that come there (like Bodyworks, which was amazing, and now a cool robots exhibit). It really is an amazing and wonderful museum, and if you havent been there yet, go!

I went to the Museum of Science and Industry during Body Worlds and it was one of the most informative exhibits I've ever been to! There were other parts in the museum that were just as interesting, even just the gift shop! Also, the prices are pretty affordable. I would definitely recommend anyone to go there if they're ever in Chicago.

The Museum of Science & Industry has great educational exhibits for people of all ages. I especially enjoy the submarine and coal mine exhibits when I was younger and more recently the rotating special Body Works and Toys exhibits. Parking is easy in the garage and they have many hands-on kids friendly acitivities. We always take visitors here, because it's such a great museum.

If the exhibit - Bodyworlds (I believe) is still around at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, then it is a must see. While it is somewhat costly (over $15.00 from what I remember)...it's well worth it since you may never see something like this again. The exhibit is totally dedicated to the human body and shows the body in ways never seen. You can see every part perfectly preserved and in tact in many artistic, scientific and creative ways. While some of it is shocking, it's a great educational experience, and is even very creative and artistic. It could take hours just to get through and enjoy all of the pieces of the exhibit. It was well worth the price and the wait in line.

This is the perfect combination of entertainment and education for all ages. Don't miss the Imax Theatre in the basement and be sure to plan ahead (a rotating film schedule can spoil your plans). Favorite stops that never get old at the museum include the coal mine ride and hatching chicks. Be sure to visit at Christmas when they have the trees of many nations.

PROS: great exhibits combine learning with fun
CONS: lots of walking can be exhausting

Museum Of Science & Industry is a very Interesting Place and a great place to spend an afternoon. If you have an afternoon free and you arent doing anything, take a trip to the Museum of Science and Industry. They have great exhibits and great food places to eat around there. It is a little pricey though. No big deal, anybody should still be able to afford it. Overall i give this place four stars out of five.

The Museum of Science and Industry is by far my favorite museum in Chicago, andI try to go there often. Even though some of the exhibits are geared toward children, they are still fun and informative for adults. Many of the exhibits are hands-on, which is also entertaining. There is a model of a heart you can walk through, as well as a full-size commercial airplane. You could spend an entire day here!

A must see for any school age child. This museum offers a wide variety of interactive and fun exhibits and displays for all ages. My particular favorite is the creepy circus area. You can watch chicks hatch from eggs, see a real submarine, visit the IMAX theater, and currently see Body Worlds. The fairy castle is absolutely amazing but can be boring for really little kids. The coal mine is a neat trip into the underground. There are buy one get one free coupons in the Entertainment book to offset some of the cost. Students are cheaper too! You can buy your tickets online or at the museum.

PROS: body worlds ROCKS, circus and the dollhouse are incredible
CONS: could have more interactive rides or exhibits

As members of our local Museum of Discovery and Science, we can get general admission into the museum of Science and Industry for free. nice!

When you walk in the place looks large but kind of "eh" - the you walk way in and WOWZA!!! The exhibits are just amazing - spectacular - phenoenal!

The BodyWorlds exhibit was the most fascinating lesson in anatomy...just amazing - no words can dexcribe it.

There was also an exhibit on an old WWII submarine - REALLY cool...especially for history buffs.

We were able to see baby chicks hatching...and we only spent half a day there - imagine if we had had more time?!

This is definitely a museum to visit again and again!!

PROS: left us speechless
CONS: the layout is a bit confusing

Recently visited this museum with my daughter, and we enjoyed it very much. It was difficult for us to locate, having never been to Chicago before. I decided to drive rather than take mass-transit. Think that was a mistake. Should have taken local transportation there, and our nerves wouldn't have been so rattled by the time we arrived. The wait line was very long to gain admission, but worth it. I would recommend this facility for visitors to Chicago.

PROS: Great Exhibit

This is by far the coolest museum I've ever seen in my life. I went here on a field trip twice while in school. I will never forget my experience walking around and seeing all the cool exhibits. The place is totally awesome and although I've never been to Disneyland or Disneyworld, I would recommend it just as highly.

I will never forget the exhibit that proved the theory of chance and probability. It had a ball fall into a bunch of slots and the chance of it falling in any particular slot was peculiar to say the least. It formed a perfect mountain. Higher in the middle as it gradually went lower by the sides. Simply because the probability was higher in the middle. So in the long run it worked out to be a perfect mountain. Perhaps you would have to see it to appreciate it. If you are ever in the Chicago area be sure to check it out. The only other place in Chicago that's as cool as this place it Wrigley Field. He he.

This is a wonderful place to take the whole family. The building is large, spacious and beautiful. They have so many cool attractions, great exhibits and so much to do that you will get tired just thinking of what to see next! They really do a great job in offering a first rate museum for a reasonable price, with a very efficient and accomodating staff. They have special films that are always great, and a large cafeteria. You will love visiting them!

I joined a group of friends and my hosts to the Body Works exibit at the Museum of Science & Industry sometime a few weeks ago and want to note a few things that made the trip and experience very positive and highly recommended. The layout of the museum lends well to those who get lost easily. The parking was automated and you could pay without every talking to an attendant using your credit card or cash. The cafeteria was chock full of options to choose from and had every kind of food well represented, like the United Nations of food courts. I had a cup of soup, crackers, water and a salad. It was actually quite good and I was very pleased with the quality of service. There were people in clearly designated clothes walking around asking those who looked as if they wanted for help what they were looking for. They were helpful in assisting us as we'd purchased the tickets for the exibit online and were not sure if the cost of entrance to the museum was included. Also, the exibit was open much later than the museum which allowed for lots of walking around time. Usually exibits aren't open later at night and you have to be out by 4 or 5ish, which seems rediculous if it's something of interest mainly for adults. I appreciated their foresight. The cost of the exibit did in fact include entrance to the museum and saved us around $7 each and this was without a 'group' rate. I would recommend the museum to anyone who just wants a positive museum experience in Chicago.

Although it's been awhile since I've been to the MOSAI, I still remember it being one of the coolest places I've been. Whether you want to take a trip in the coal mine or see the baby chicks, it's such a treat to be able to see science in action. You can also tour a real life-sized airplane or check out the space modules that early astronauts used. With a ton of interactive exhibits, this is the place to take kids when you want them to formulate a love for all things science! Although I live in another city now, I'd take a trip back to CHicago just to see this musuem!

Chicago has some of the best museums, and this is no exception. If travelling to Chicago, it's definitely worth spending time here. Many exhibits are interactive, making it great for kids and adults alike.

This is a great Science Museum to take the family too. They have a lot of parking so that is not an issue. It is very easy to get too. The landscaping is pretty. Kids of all ages will enjoy this museum. Its better to go on the weekends otherwise they usually have field trips from school children.

This is the most fun of the Lake Shore museum group. They have cool interactive displays and all that. My favorite one is the coal mine thing. Also the gift shop is pretty nice, but it's expensive.
