It was horrible. The worst food I've had in a long time--and I only got to the salad--which was the most overpriced chef salad ever--$9.50 for 12 cents worth of shredded imitation cheddar and ONE slice of ham rolled up and cut into four slices! Never again!! Bottled store-brand ranch dressing was the topper. UGH!

Dr. Jazz is located in historic downtown Lebanon in what used to be an old general store. It has great ambiance having the soda fountain and the old time booths. The selection of food is ok - mostly sandwiches and simple food. The ice cream is great. It is a great end of the day after visiting the antique and specialty shops.

This place is amazing! It was designed to look like an old time soda shop. It fits in very well with the feel of the town. The food is great, typical sandwich plates but what people really come for is the ICE CREAM!!! The malt shakes are to die for and the Bearcat (named after the local college mascot) is probaly one of the best things there. So enjoy your trip back in time!

I ate at Dr. Jazz Soda Fountain & Grille for the first time this week. I have never been to the St. Louis area but when I heard about the Chicago style food, I decided I had to stop in. The atmosphere is amazing. There is an old restored Coke soda fountain which they use to serve ice cream. The food was great. My kids had a great time and the ice cream was the best I have ever had. I was able to try the various ice cream flavors they had but my favorite was the Coconut Joy. My wife tried a George Bailey which had the same ice cream in it and the portions are HUGE! Overall, I have to give the restaurant a 10 out of 10. You will never find a dining experience like at Dr. Jazz.

Pros: Amazing ice cream, Great food, Fun for kids

Cons: 30 min from St. Louis, Not open Mondays

The overall decor is pretty cool, it looks like an old soda fountain/pharmacy from long ago. The location is nice in quiet and quaint Lebanon. The food overall is alright, a little pricey, but the main reason to come is the ice cream and desserts. The ice cream is shipped in from Wisconsin, I think, and its verrrry good. The sundaes and other desserts are huge, you can definately share. We usually just go for dessert or have a light dinner followed by ice cream. Good for kids, couples, the whole crew.
