I left Rod's office this morning after picking up my car. They asked me to write an honest review on this website cause they were looking online at all the positive reviews that they had on other websites (two negative reivews too, but out of 44 websites that Google comes up with the rest of the posts are positive). My honest review is that they have good prices and prompt serivce, and no problems yet with there work.

I purchased a car that needed work done and I took my car to quite a few places for estimates and after hearing all the estimates, I thought I would never get my car fixed. I was online one day and just googled auto repair- Chicago and Rod's came up. I was hesitant at first because I was not familiar with the shop and I just knew i would be quoted some outrageous price from there too. I wasn't going to call, but something inside kept telling me to call. When I called and asked for a quote on my issue, I was at a loss for words for what they quoted me, almost $1000 cheaper than what Pepe Boys and others quoted me. I knew I wanted to do business with them because the person that answered the phone also answered every question that I had and gave me all honest answers. I knew from that point, I wanted to give them my business. My car was towed to them on Thursday and they kept me informed on the progress of my repairs and my car was done early Saturday morning. Everyone in the shop was so nice and professional and I was even shown pictures of my engine before and after. My car is running wonderfully and I would definitley recommend Rod's to anyone that needs auto repair. The quality of the service that I recieved out shines the affordable price that I paid. Thanks alot and great job!!!

I've had alot of problems with the trans of my 1999 oldsmobile Bravada and have been to a lot of shops in the last two years. I was tired of being hassled and having to come back again and again for repairs.

After seeing one of their ads I decided to give Rod's Auto a try.

I'm glad I did. Rod, the owner, is honest and easy to talk to. He explained everything clearly including all my options. I didn't feel pressured at all, and I didn't feel that anything was done that wasn't needed. My trans was done quickly without paying an arm and a leg. I haven't had a problem since. It's almost too good to be true.

I'll definately be back for tune-ups; I found my new repair shop right here!

Rod and his crew are simply the best! They provide you top-notch service overall. Rod has been in buisness for over 20 years and it shows - great prices, quality work, and IF you do have an issue they will take care of it for you without a fuss.

Evereytime i go there it sems to get better! I take all my cars there, and their entire crew - Louis, Wendell, Henry, Juan, Chris and Epi are probably the best mechanics in the city along with their expert trans builder Charles who took care of my trans for my Pickup. Rod and Pete always make sure the work done to my cars gets done right and on time!

Definetley a great place for service in the south loop/Bridgeport area!

I live way out on the south side of Chicago, but I drive all the way to Bridgeport to take my car to Rod. Rod has worked on my family's cars for over 10 years. And even though parking in that area can be bad, I know that he is one of the last mechanics that won't try to lie to you make an extra buck. It is great to see a family owned and operated repair shop. Rod and Peter are good people. Trust me, if you get your transmission repaired or replaced by any other mechanic, you paid too much for it. I also like the fact that they offer financing on car repairs. So when my transmission went out, I knew that I didn't have the money to fix it. But Rod showed me how I could get a short term loan to get my car fixed.

Warning: this guy is more sarcastic than Jerry Seinfeld so bring your sense of humor with you.

Rod's has great prices, they are fast, and really friendly. But most importantly to me is that I trust Rod to work on my car and my kids cars.

I have been taking my & my familys cars to rods auto and rods transmission for over ten years. Rod is a rare trustworthy mechanic. I reccomend him to everyone.

Rod replaced the engine in my Chevy g20 van that I picked up this afernoon. He told me about this site and asked me to write about what I think about his service. I have to say that rods has always been the mechanic that i use, and I reccomend him.

Rod's recently replaced a headgasket on my 1999 Pontiac Grand Am. I saw Rod's ad in the newspaper and, after calling around, I found Rod's to be the cheapest by far. The car was ready when they said it would be and I haven't had a problem since. That is a huge change from other mechanics I have used in the past. To sum it up; I would go back if I need more work done.

I have been a customer of Rod's Auto for years, my family and a lot of my friends go there also. I have always been happy with the service and price. I picked up my car last night from rods, (a 2001 explorer had a transmission rebuilt), and I talked to the manager and he mention this site, and after reading one negative review i felt i had to write something to say that rods did a great job with my truck just like they always do. -Christina
