Perhaps you remember Duffy's from way back when. While we're not ignoring the past, we'd just as well move forward. In fact, we've carried over the name, and that's about all. The place is fully redecorated and redesigned. From the windows that open onto Diversey to the grand dining room in the back, it's all new and all good. We're sure you'll love Duffy's look, but the menu is perhaps our proudest accomplishment. It is traditional in some ways, yet with a sophisticated twist on many of your favorites. Duffy's is not a sports bar, but rather an establishment that shows sports. We've got two big screen TVs and enough smaller screens to keep even the biggest sports junkie happy.
I have always had great food here and my friends and I have had many good nights at this bar. Several birthdays, lunches and free parties. Duffy's is one of my favorite winter Chicago bars.

Duffy's has really good food for a bar kind of atmosphere. Their Hummus is divine, as are their Burgers. The staff is nice and they often have very good drink specials.

I like these guys a lot - they like sports and beer and that's what I like. I like pounding back a few cold ones and watching the game. These guys are always crackin jokes and stuff. Good place to get $h!T faced at.
Pros: Its almost the same name as Duff's beer
Cons: But it's not the same...

The cubs were playing out in San Francisco so the game came on at 9pm, I politely asked the bartender to put the cubs game on one of the TV's. Every other TV in the bar had the Sox game on, Tampa Bay and Cleveland. He said I had to talk to the Manager. HE was very RUDE and said he would put it on when the SOX game was over, he also said "this is a Michigan bar". I am not sure what that has to do with the SOX? Absolutley ridiculous to have a north side SPORTS bar not show the CUBS on ONE TV. I am telling everyone I know not to go there.
Cons: NOT A CUBS BAR

They use the slogan of Chicago's bighouse and it really is crazy on game days. If you don't show up several hours early, you shouldn't plan on getting a seat. During the game itself, you have the Michigan fight song, people cheering, a wolverine mascot and lots of suck-n-blow jello shots.
The breakfast food is greasy, but delicious (I love the chorizo). There is plenty of beer, although quantity is usually more valued over quality. The people are friendly and fun.

PLEASE NOTE: THE ADDRESS IS 420 W DIVERSEY, NOT 4201. Yesterday I found this out the hard way. I lost an hour of my life I'll never get back and ended up several miles from the actual location of the bar. It's actually located right near the lake and the Lincoln Park Zoo. Dear Citysearch, please change the address!!!!!
About the bar: The food is good, and the atmosphere's fun on game days. But the noise level is obscene. As in, painfully above and beyond even a normal sportsbar. The TV volume is ridiculous, and so is the volume of the music they play during commercial breaks. It's nice to be able to actually talk with your company when you watch sports, but it's next to impossible at Duffy's.
Pros: Food, staff.
Cons: NOISE!!!!

during the day and evenings its a very nice place to go to eat or watch a game. however the so called Michigan Alums cant handle their beer after dark. watch out for yellow stains and vandalism after dark from the patrons on weekends. not all. just the few Mich Alums it seems.
