Good drink selection and wide variety of entertainment. They occasionally have stand up comedy which I always love.

If you're a 50-something Rat-Pack-lover, 20 something Punk Rocker or Yuppie climbing the corporate ladder-you'll fit in at the Holiday Club. This place is one of the few remaining long-time-non-corporate-type-bars left in the city. Though it started in Wicker Park in the early 90's, it's now found a home in Uptown. The cool part about the location is it's right at the Sheridan El, 1 minute from LSD and 4 blocks North of Wrigley Field-easy to get to but far enough away from the frat boy scene. The menu has great bar food and $5 food specials every night-generous portions feature award winning BBQ wings(wing lovers don't miss this stop), burgers, pizza, salads & solid down home american fare. They've got a SUPER Sunday brunch, too. You can't beat the entertainment either-old school juke box with great tunes, retro photo booth, pool table, outdoor patio, video games and nightly fun in the back room like Karaoke, Open Mic, New Wave Friday's. Chill out at the Holiday Club because it won't disappoint!

Cons: Parking

While beers and lagers are more my taste, the Holiday Club offers a great place to meet other single people over a martini or a manhattan. You can always find something good in the juke box.

After getting off the el, I have to cross the street on the way home to avoid the temptation of spending all Thursday/Friday night enjoying good quality fun on their sidewalk patio. However, Holiday Club's best attribute is the healthy portion of better than average bar food. The location/atmosphere/staff rates par for the course - I've never had a bad experience.

Pros: Portion Size, Size of Bar/Restaurant, Patio Dining, Neighborhood Location

Aside from the consistently great music on the juke, the phenomenal and friendly service and the tasty eats, These guys do a Sunday brunch that ROCKS. 8 buck pitchers of Bloody Marys or Mimosas? Who doesn't need a good champagne buzz on a sunday afternoon? I'm a fan.

Cheap eats...the friendliest service in Uptown...swank surroundings. It can't be beat for convenience. The turkey breast sandwich is tops for taste and the extensive selection of imports on tap is hard to beat. Nightly specials (on food and drink) just add to the appeal.

I was expecting this bar to be expansive and cold inside, but it's actually pretty comfortable--much smaller than I expected. The jukebox has everything from jazzy rat-pack hits to pumping nightclub music, but the TV is usually playing Green Acres or some such silliness. Drinks are nicely sized and the service is generally pretty prompt. I give this clubs high marks for creativity and personality. I'll be back.

Pros: Steps from Red Line, Sidewalk tables

Cons: Street parking

It's hard to miss this place, with its flashy, shimmering sequin sign on a gritty corner of Uptown. Inside, it's a retro shrine to Sinatra-era swankiness--all formica tables, glittery vinyl banquettes and early '60s movie posters. A cool,…
