I have eaten at Deleece several times and every time has been better than the last. The food is tasty and innovative and the restaurant itself is welcoming and trendy without trying too hard. This is the perfect friendly neighborhood place. Good for dates; good for groups of friends-- I can't recommend it highly enough.

I tried Deleece for the first time last night and had an amazing time! Our server was great - she was super knowledgeable about the menu, wines and even the art hanging on the wall. We started with the potstickers and the sauce is so good you should keep it around after you've finished for dipping the bread! The butter lettuce salad was delicious, and the salmon and lamb were both wonderful dishes as well. I was very pleasantly surprised and can't wait to go back to try the rest of the menu!

We discovered Deleece several months ago and have tried it for lunch, dinner and Sunday Brunch. We truly enjoy the food and the overall relaxing atmosphere. My favorite is the lamb, cooked to perfection and enjoyed with the servers recommended Merlot which was excellent and a generous pour. The only lacking experience we had was when we sat outside. The service just didn't seem to equal that of inside seating. We were told there was some confusion about who's table it was. The server we lost due to "territory" is the one we wish we had.
However, despite this one occasion (we have asked for seating inside ever since) we truly do enjoy this pleasant neighbourhood restaurant.

Deelce exceeded my expectations. Our great experience started with wonderful service and ended with great food and wine. Plus they have an outdoor eating area - perfect for summer dinning.

I recently returned to Deleece after not having been in awhile. The food is better than ever. Lots of delicious specials, lots of changes to the menu. I had the duck breast with ravioli filled with a pea and duck confit. Excellent, it melts in your mouth. My husband had the caramelized salmon with the very tasty black rice covered in a pear-ginger sauce. Everyone at our table loved their dishes. The place looks great. Warm and inviting. Refreshing to dine somewhere and waiter isn't pushing the most expensive bottle of wine on the menu. And $20 for a three course meal is the best deal in the city. We'll be back soon.

Deleece is no longer the consistently tasty place it once was. Since the new management came in, we had one marginal experience but went back thinking that was an isolated incident only to be surprised by possibly the worst evening at dinner we've had in years. Unattentive service and poorly prepared food (the pork chop that was ordered turned out to be a tenderloin that was seared at best) are apparently part of the new regime at Deleece. Nothing about the meal was good for any of the four adults. The kids' cheeseburgers were great though! It's really a shame but we will never be back.

Pros: good location, kids burgers

Cons: food, service

the menu is limited for a neighborhood place like this...it seems to struggle between casual and upscale. the food falls just short of pretenious. the service was as good as you'd expect in any restaurant. the penne arrabiata was totally bland, but the other meals were good.

I went with my girlfriend and sat outside in the lovely lakeview neighborhood restaurant. The service was the best I'd had in two years and the food was absolutely exquisite. It gets a bit noisy inside on weekends, but other than that, you can't go wrong here.

Deleece is my favorite restaurant in town. Its got a neighborhood feel but the food is purely 5-star. The menu is creative and everything is prepared elegantly. I take all of my out of town friends here because it embodies the true spirit of Chicago dining: Spectacular food presented creatively in a relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere. Don't miss it.

Deleece is my absolute favorite restaurant. The food is always great. My favorite dishes are the lamb, which is amazing and their fish is fabulous. The atmosphere is comfortable and casual and kind of hip and the servers are quite friendly and very knowledgable. I always have an enjoyable time at Deleece and everyone I bring there raves about the food and says that they will definitely be back. I always recommend Deleece to all my friends and they are never disappointed.

I live around the corner from Deleece and tried it with a group of 9. Every single one of us was thoroughly disappointed. They stopped serving bread after two rounds and we waited over an hour for our food. I thought the prices were very high considering the portion sizes and creativity of the entrees. The menu was a mediocre at best. My pasta was smothered in sun dried tomatoes and literally dripping with grease. There were children running around everywhere. With so many delicious restaurants in Chicago I would never recommend anyone trying this one. Walk down Southport a few more blocks and chose anyone of those restaurants for a much more satisfying dining experience.

Sixteen of us had a wonderful evening at Deleece. We found the food exceptional, the atmosphere perfect for an evening with friends, the waiter knowledgeable, and the price very reasonable considering the quality of the food. Not one complaint from anyone in the group--only raves.

Deleece has been serving up moderately priced, tasty eclectic cuisine in this lakeview neighborhood for 9 years - a great place for creative and delicious fish and terrific brunch spot.

After reading comments/reviews on this little gem and being an out-of-towner from Mpls looking for good veg fare, I bused/trained it from downtown to Deleece to give it a try and I wasn't disappointed! The bruschetta was fun and different than I've had elsewhere, their house mustard/garlic dressing on mixed greens made my tastebuds sing, and the soba 'shroom/onion/nappa cabbage dish rocked (tho it could've fed 3 people!). The patio seating provided a nice place for people-watching and reading poetry, server very pleasant & helpful and not at all gushing or sickly sweet, might come off as aloof to some, but I prefered such. The service wasn't the quickest, but I was actually quite happy with such as I wanted to savor the meal and it was nice to not have each course piling into one another. If you're on a tight schedule tho - beware.

The Scene
Comfortable and tasteful, with a decor of exposed brick, tile floors and velvet curtains. It's quiet, but a buzzing neighborhood crowd fills the place later in the evenings. Service is smart and quick--a good thing for…
