I bought a Speed Queen washer from them several years ago, and it's taken some abuse, and still works great. Needs the water temp control fixed, but it's still under warrantee. That'll get taken care of as soon as I remember to request it.

A couple of months ago, I bought a GE stove. It's a true wonder. I wonder how I managed with the crappy stoves I'd been using all my life. A nearly identical model came with a cast iron grill/griddle, but we wanted the oven racks that are meant to stay in the oven when running the self-clean cycle. The salesman offered to order the part separately, though what arrived was aluminum - which was specifically intended for our stove, but since we wanted the cast iron, he sent it back, and ordered the cast iron one for us. I was told a few minutes ago, that it should be here soon, probably in the next few days.

I must say that the placard on the front door, unnecessarily stating that they're closed on Sundays for religious reasons, came close to making me turn around and walk away. I'm glad I went in, but customers do not need someone else's religion shoved in their faces. That ain't good business.

Fantastic Service
They came the same day. I have a 10 year old Kenmore fridge/freezer with 2 different problems. He gave an estimate on one problem, he had the part on the the truck, he found he could fix it with a cheaper part and fixed it $40 less than the estimate. For the other problem he told me he could fix it for $80 but he told me how I could easily fix it myself, so I did and it worked. Maybe they made less money on this visit, but they are going to get repeat business. I wish they did plumbing. Dick Van Dyke for all appliance repairs from now on.

On July 2 ,2009 I bought a G.E. 4.1 cubic foot washer. It was broke 3 times in the first 9 months. After fighting with G.E. and Dick Van Dyke to get a different brand washer, I had to settle with the exact same washer model with the exact same problems, it has now broke twice in 5 months, instead of honoring the promise Deanna made me ,that if the new washer broke a second time, G.E. would send me a check for the value of the washer, I was told by some pomp-us ass named John that the washer breaking was my fault, he said I must not know how to load a washer, I have been doing laundry since 1989,you jerk!The only reason I bought this p.o.s washer in the first place was because the washer I had for 8 years had broke a tub strap, and we needed a bigger washer any way, sad part is if I had just replaced the old washers tub strap, I would never had the misfortune of spending my hard earned money ( $646 all together ) with Dick Van Dyke, on such a poorly designed product!!! SHAME ON DICK VAN DYKE AND G.E. your own service tech said it was a very poorly designed machine!!!!!

I wish I had read the other reviews before I bought appliances from DVD. I needed some specialty appliances for my kitchen, and thought that I was being smart in buying from local experts instead of purchasing from a big-box national chain. It was a disaster from start to finish. I was not told what was necessary for proper installation (was I supposed to know this? I'm a professor, not an appliance specialist!), then given a choice between paying a 20% re-stocking fee or signing a waiver for something I certainly would have liked to know before I laid down over $3000! Please don't give this company business. I'm so mad at myself for trusting these unprofessionals.

I think it tells a lot about a business, when the customer service manager, flat out calls a customer a liar when reporting a problem with delivery. \r\n\r\nI recently purchased a washer from Dick Van Dyke and had it delivered to my home. The delivery person took the cart through my muddy yard, instead of the side walk, and tracked mudd through my house. The only damage I saw before he left was lots of mudd on my vinyl flooring. He asked me to sign a waiver stating that there was no damage done to my home or my appliance, and I saw none so I signed it. \r\n\r\nTwo hours later I was mopping the floor and discovered it was not just mudd on my floor. The delivery person had torn up my vinyl flooring in 2 different locations. I couldn't see it until after I mopped my floor because of all the mudd he had tracked in.\r\n\r\nI called the store and reported the incident and requested that my floor be repaired. The customer service manager returned my call and told me they couldn't do anything because I had signed the waiver. After explaining myself and requesting to speak with her manager, the customer service manager basically told me that I was a liar. She stated that I was trying to get the store to pay for damage that was already there. \r\n\r\nI will never do business with them again and would recommend the same to anyone else.
