I have a "holiday-gift list" from my kids, so in the process of finding one of the books on this list (which I admit I know noting about this book), I find this store online offering it for a good price. So... I ordered from them. They canceled the order the next day, but did not issue a refund. I wrote them and filed with PayPal to get a refund, only to receive a very mean reply from the store, which inadvertently, the one who sent this email admitted that they lied and did not even have this item for sale as it has been discontinued and if they did have it for sale it would sell for much higher... I have to tell you, this company's attitude was so stupid in their replies and "mean-attitude" I cannot imagine how they are still in business. Thought I should at least warn someone, this was definitely the worst company I have dealt with this year.

This is my current LCS about 5 mins from my house. They have a limited but varied back issues selection (commonly priced at a very reasonable $0.25 above cover) mostly due to the size limitations of the store, but get all the new books & most of the variants (of which there's about a 50-50 chance they'll sell for cover price - a rarity in this day & age). Good selection of trades, both indies and marvel/dc, some t-shirts/statues/action figures, and a small wall of Warhammer & other RPG stuff in the back.

Their wall books are mostly SA Marvel & DC, with a smattering of Bronze thrown in. They don't change that often, but books are protected & not all nasty/faded - and, compared to other stores around Chicago, the number of books on their wall is actually pretty impressive. They're currently getting consignment books from a local collector, so it seems like new inventory is appearing more often these days.

They sell some E Gerber supplies in the store (current size Mylites, Archives, Half-backs, Full-Backs), and know how to special-order the other sizes - which is a big plus for me personally. At the back you'll find about 20 boxes of Bronze - no crazy bargains to be had, but a decent selection from the popular Marvel/DC titles of the era.

Both the owner & the manager are friendly, down-to-earth people - no attitudes, no arrogance, yet it's obvious that they're into comic books & know what they're talking about.

I went there a few months ago with a small pile of old comic books. They offered $5.00 for the books and I laughed. I put them on eBay and they sold for $80! I know they need to make a profit, but they are not fair or honest.

Cons: They are not fair buyers

I went into this shop a few months ago with some older comic books for sale. They offered me $5.00 for the books. I listed them on eBay and they sold for $80.00!

I know these guys need to make a profit, but they do not pay fair prices!

Although this store is located far north of Chicago, Dreamland Comics has been around for more than ten years at least in the same location in Libertyville. The store has a huge selection of comics that are organized very well and it is the perfect place for hard core comic collectors as well as casual or first time comic book collectors. They are also very big into role playing games. The atmosphere in the store is very friendly and relaxed for the customers.

Dreamland Comics II is a reasonably priced comic shop with a good selection of comics, graphic novels, and collectable card games.

The only reason I wouldnt give them 5 stars is that their shop could be larger and cleaner, and their staff primarily caters to their regulars instead of the general public
