I feel like I just got from Mexico, we went here last weekend and we had a wonderful time. Great tequila selection and authentic Mexican rice meals.

There are so many other places we could have gone to but we decided to go here, we would like to have the experience that we will never soon forget and we found it in here, everything is better than anything else, the food, the service, just the thing.

Platiyo used to be a very fun, good restaurant owned by Mia Francesca. That was two years ago. We went for the first time post-sale, and it is just absolutely horrendous. We were there for 2 hours, during which time they managed to (1) screw up every single drink order, (2) take our order, (3) bring us the saltiest guacamole that anyone had ever had (and don't get me wrong -- I love salt!), and (4) an hour and a half in, bring us the soup that some of us had ordered -- it was actually boiling (full boil!!!). We left because we still hadn't gotten entrees. The kickers: (1) we were the only people in the restaurant (so it's not at all like the kitchen got slammed; literally, one other table was occupied), and (2) the waiter acted as if this happened every single day (which it probably does) and offered no explanation or apology.

We were all simply stunned. The only thing that I can think of is that they intend to go out of business very shortly.

No wonder we could get a reservation for two at 9 p.m. on a Friday...at ten minutes to 9. The service was below average (entrees took 45 minutes) and the waitress was not very attentive. The food was the blandest mexican food that I've

First tried to eat here back in July...after one drink at the bar, sweat pouring off us, it became obvious the AC wasn't working. Staff apologized but seemed unconcerned. Went back last night. We were seated, our waiter introduced himself,

Platiyo makes new versions of old mexican dishes. The atmosphere is wonderful. Make sure you have a reservation because the wait can be long. The restaurant is snug and cozy. Sometimes there is not enough room for the servers to get by, but they manage. They also have a bar in the back as well as a patio area. I think the prices are reasonable for this side of town.

One of the first places we visited after moving back to Chicago -- and we feel like we hit the jackpot. There's not one thing on the menu that hasn't bee great -- and we've tried quite a few over the past 3 months. Service is exceptional,

The food is absolutely amazing at Platiyo. I'm from Mexico, so I can safely say that this is by far one of the best mexican restaurants in Chicago. Forget about finding burritos thought. The starters are delicious, we got the sampler
