We have a couple of different choices in our area for children's museums, this one is our favorite. There is something for everyone to do, they have a minature grocery store to play in, they have a pirate ship, face painting, crafts, giant blocks, baby chicks, its as much for for adults as it is the children. They will even hold a party for your children ~ its a great place to go anytime of year.

The Kohl Children's Museum in Glenview which was formerly in Wilmette is a great family place. Hands-on, dynamic, educationally stimulating for kids and parents. The museum is great for fields trips and birthday parties as well as just hanging out. Whether a regular day, rainy day or snow day your kids will be thankful you took them.

Kids will enjoy a water works room, mock resturant, library, builders cabin to name a few.

Our 5 year old aon had his birthday there and his friends were wowed.

Check out the pretzel shop in the front of the museum where you can not only dine with the family but have pretzel parties for birthdays, etc.

Excellent parking, and gift shop

PROS: Great Place for the Entire Family
CONS: None

My husband and I took my neices to the museum when we were watching the two for the weekend. After a harried 24 hours trying to keep two small children busy and engaged we headed to the Kohl with the idea that it would at least get us out and about for an hour or so. It was great - My husband had just as much fun as the girls! They have great interactive activities that kept them happy and entertained, and we felt good about it because 1) it was very engaging and the activites prompted the try new things and 2) they went home and took a 2 hour nap.

The bottom line - if you are an overwhelmed auntie or uncle then head over to the Kohl with your beloved little ones for a great time that will help you bond while creating a beloved memory for you all.

Kohls Children museum is an awesome place to take your kids.My kids loved going there...there are so many fun things for them to experience, and it is very educational as well. There is a pretend grocery store that kids can either be the shopper and push a cart and put items in it or they can be the checker and check people out.Everything is well supervised and organized. There is something for every age.My favorite is the water room. This is a great experience if only once a year.

PROS: creative educational fun
CONS: expensive

I came here with my son when he was younger and we had a great time. They had a big boat you could climb on, and a play "Jewel" store where you could "buy" lots of food. It would be too young for kids over age 8, I expect. Not cheap, either.

Still located on Green Bay in Wilmette, this little children museum is a great place to go with the kids- any age- and help them discover, hand-on, interesting things about the world around us. The great news is that in near future the museum will move in a much larger, new building at the Glen Town Center in Glenview. I bet it will be even more fun!

PROS: interesting exhibition, activities for children
CONS: small- but it will move to a ne location, in Glenview
