Car-X Auto Svc

I have been very happy with the service at this Car X. They do everything for me from oil changes to brakes and tires. Their prices were fair and much lower than the dealer. When I did have a problem with a repair, they took care of it with out a problem.

THESE PEOPLE ARE A RIPOFF. EVERYTIME IHAD A REPAIR I HAD TO TAKE IT BACK AND THEY ALWAYS HAD SOME EXCUSE THAT SOMETHING ELSE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED AND THEY WANTED MORE MONEY. THE LAST TIME I TOOK MY CAR IN, THE NEXT DAY I NOTICED THAT THE KNOB TO THE HOOD WAS GONE.IT'S OBVIOUS THAT THEY BROKE IT AND DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THE NERVE ENOUGH TO TELL ME. DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR THERE!

I took my car in and they told me I needed three things, and the estimate would be X dollars. I picked up the car, the bill was exactly the estimate (how can they make the bill come out exactly as the estimate - not even cents off?) and they couldn't even give me a copy of it. I was taken, big time. The repairs would have been cheaper even at the dealer's. Do not go there. Shop around first. Better yet, avoid all repair shops on Western Avenue - this is the second time I've been taken by one of those shops. Rip-offs.

I took my car in because the check engine light was on and asked the service men to take a look at it.
The guys told me to have a seat and they'd check it out. After less than two minutes, they called me out to the car (still in the parking lot), and told me that the gas cap was loose, and undoubtedly, this was the reason that the light was on. They cleared the light, and when I went in to pay, they told me it would be $40. This, they said, was a savings, because they didn't charge me for a full diagnostic check, which would have been $80.00. BUT, THEY didn't do a diagnostic check. When I asked about it, they said that the equipment is really expensive, so they have to charge a lot. But, They didn't use any of the equipment. They looked at my car - took less than 5 minutes to identify what they thought to be the problem, and then RIPPED ME OFF. I felt like they were trying to take advantage of me since I was a woman. It was disappointing, humiliating, and I wanted to throw my credit card at them. I don't have the kind of money to just throw it away. Diagnostic check bullsh$%. They couldn't show me anything about the way my car ran. They had no excuses. They will NEVER get my business again.
DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE. Shame on you carx for lending your name to these hacks.

I joined just to write a positive review for this garage - the negative reviews here are in stark contrast to my experience. I found great guys, QUICK service, and a fair price. This location is staffed by career mechanics who all seemed very knowledgable (I know a little bit about cars and I was impressed).

I had an oil change taken care of in about ten minutes and my check engine light was on, so I left the car over night for diagnostics. By 1pm the next day they had the problem identified and repaired for a very reasonable price, and they gaurntee their work.

For any typical maintenance or repairs I'd highly recommend this garage.

PROS: Career mechanics, comfortable environment, great customer service
CONS: None in my experience

I needed a close, local repair shop so I tried Car-X because it looked like a reputable national shop. What a big mistake! The looks were deceiving: unprofessional customer service and incompetent mechanics.

When they repaired an old thermostat, my car continued to overheat and another repair shop told me Car-X had installed the thermostat BACKWARDS!

You should avoid Car-X!

I used to be very pleased with Car X, particularly this location. It seems they may have changed managment and now things are not the same. For instance, everytime I go in there they are always trying to add on something that I don't particularly need. I just bought three tires from them and less than a few months later they said I would need four new tires.

My biggest complaint about this location is that I took my vehicle in for a "safety check" before heading out on a long road trip. Apparently, their safety check is not very extensive because somehow they missed the fact that I had holes in my radiator and an oil leak. I obviously discovered this after my car overheated on the highway. Thanks for nothing Car X!
