I really enjoy Hackney's at Printers Row. Friendly atmosphere, extensive beer list (although I am not an expert personally). Food is very good and plenty of it for the price. Feel very much at home there.

Great place to grab a burger (a "Famous Hackneyburger" or other!) and a beer, and enjoy some good conversation. Highly recommend. And watch out for that Original French Fried Onion starter--addictive but clearly artery-hardening!

They have half priced bottles of wine on Mondays and Tuesdays. In the summer it is great to sit outside and enjoy a cocktail. Their food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner is awesome.

It has great outdoor seating in the summer, but the food is unorginal and definitely not very good for you. The onion loaf is tasty but a heart attack on a plate! The burgers are okay but nothing to write home about. Basic Fare-

We have been to Hackney's before, so this is not a one time only review of the place. It is a great place to go to eat. It is a little crowded in the dinning room because of all the tables they have in there. And that's because alot of people eat there. So except to bump elbows and other body parts with other dinners and or the wait staff. Hey..it ain't no problem thou. The selection of beers and ales is wonderful. They match all the food Hackney's serve. OK the food. Since we have eaten there at least 5 times before, we were expecting one of those juicy large tasty burgers. Well the meat was not so moist, it was medium cooked w/ pink in the middle. And the flavor was off, not what we remembered of past times we ate there. The other people at the table thought the meat was "mushy" with an "odd consistency" more "chopped and formed" then "real burger ground meat". The fries, as always, were great. The clam chowder soup was right on, mouth watering. Get a bowl because their soups are great too. Now expect to pay more for your food then a chain or some 'greasy spoon' joint, but it is still alittle costly for our pocketbook to go on a more regular schedule. So will we come back to eat, from our usual one month absents? Probably so. Because Hackney's is a great place with a good selection of delicious food. Leave your car at home and take the bus which drops you off right in front of Hackney's.

Pros: Good ales & beers that compliment Hackney's fine food

Cons: Was the hamburger meat off this day for lunch?

I took some out of towner customers there last week rather than a stuffy overpriced steak joint. Well, It turned out to be a good decision as we all had a great meal & the atmosphere was super friendly, which my customers loved. My only regret was that while I was talking my head off all night, I didn't get to enjoy one heck of a patty melt. It was awesome! I can't wait to get back there so I can take my sweet time, swill a few pints & enjoy every bite.
I would definitely recommend this place! Ziggy Zoggy, Cheers

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are excellent. Take out or delivery too. Irish pub feeling and full menu. Nice crowded bar area with separate dining room and outdoor seating with good sunlight all day. Good neighborhood/family place to be. Less of a college crowd than other places in the area.

Guinness Burger is great as well as any of the other specials that I have had there. Prices are typical for the area and service is usually very good.

Although they are well known for their burgers, the daily specials are actually a better value, especially the pasta dishes when they are available. Comfortable atmosphere, outdoor dining, great beer list and friendly staff.

We went there for the first time with empty stomach. The portion of the food is just right. We got this coupon for a free appertizer with dinner entree so we ordered the fried onion. They were GREAT! However, I didn't like dressing for my ceasar salad. The burgers were sooo great though. The food were fast even if the place was crowded.

My boyfriend and I ate lunch at the Printer's Row location. We ordered the onion ring appetizer and it was HUGE! We both got sandwiches, which were excellent. The only down side was the cramped tables. You didn't have much room, and because you were so close to everyone, it was kind of loud. I would definitley go back and maybe sit outside.

Have the Hackney Burger on the traditional rye bread or don't have it at all. Ketchup? So wrong. Mustard and the raw onion. Have the bread toasted, great touch.
The Big Cookie dessert is not something you want to miss.
Have a Guiness, it's good for you!

I went with a group of friends for dinner before the Paul McCartney concert and then went for a night cap afterwards. Great food and really nice people.

I try to eat here once a week for their excellent bluberry pancakes. The staff is a little slow but the food is worth the wait. It's nice sitting outside and see all the Printer's Row residents walking their dogs.

A favorite local joint.

As a Columbia College student, I must say that I have found the perfect local "haunt". I thought this place was just a burger joint (and from what hear, it has a great one), but it is so much more. Their beer selection on tap is awesome - many Belgian brews. And what a pleasant suprise to see Hummus and Edamame on the appetizer list. If you are only expecting burgers and onion rings, prepare to be suprised!

My wife and I love this place - we have eaten there many times since they've opened. The staff is so friendly! We aren't big fans of hamburgers, but we go back for the hummus and banana cream pie time and time again.

This place reminds me a a friendly pub. They have all these great beers on tap, and the bar has a really nice atmosphere. Their burgers are great--nothing fancy, just fresh and tasty. The servers are very competent and they'll stop and chat.

I've eaten at three different Hackney's, and this is the worst one. Don't bother ordering anything but sandwiches. Everything else is horrible. And the sandwiches can be sub par. The service hovers when you first sit down, and then disapears completely before your entre arrives (late). I'm done with giving this place a chance. It's expensive, too.
