Reviews for Indian Harvest

Ratings_icons Average food

Sunitha A.

The food taste and quality is very average. The 'baingan bharta' was more of a sour tomato paste. The veg Biryani had rice lumps (looked and tasted more like a fried rice), the raita which accompanied the biryani was extremely salty. Starters/Entrees like paneer, chicken and Chilli pakoda were OK. Their signature dessert "Orange Kulfi" was a big let down....it was crystallised and tasted bitter. However, must acknowledge that the customer service is pretty good. On telling them about the bharta, orange kulfi and the raita, they replaced it with dal makhani and plain curd. Their Mango kulfi is pretty good. Their cocktail with Vodka and ginger ale had no taste of vodka and had an overdose of sugar syrup.Overall, not worth for the price.

Ratings_icons Good service, decent food!

Gaja S.

This review is mainly for the desi people because I know they are more picky when it comes to their food when they are eating out! I would say the food is decent, it definitely doesn't come close to what you would expect to eat at home. But it's better than most of the restaurants in Aurora-Naperville area. Customer service is first rate and the place looks good from the inside! If you want to take your significant other out on a date, this is the place for you!

Ratings_icons The Old One Was Better

We have been great fans of this restaurant and looked forward to their new location. Unfortunately the buffet items now seem more limited and the service has gone down hill. Our first lunch visit we had absolutely no attention and had to ask for our chicken and bread. It akso took us forever to get a drink. We gave it one more try and the service was only marginally better. The chicken dishes on the buffet are now shredded pieces of light and dark meat as opposed to the large fresh pieces of white meat they used to serve. Sometimes new and improved simply isn't.

Ratings_icons Great Indian Food

Mark P.

I've eaten indian food from England to New Zelaand and the food here is fantastic. The flavor is amazing. We order food for pickup once a week. It's that good. The service is pretty slow. I'm not sure why. It's probably the reason why we order pickup instead of dining in all the time. Occasionally the food is not so great. It's a little inconsistant, but when they get it right, it's the best indian you will ever have.

Ratings_icons Best Naperville Indian

Tom K.

I've never had the buffet at Indian Harvest and I've only dined in their restaurant a handful of times. We DO offer carry out at least once a week from Indian Harvest, because we're completely addicted to their Tika Masala. Wonderful staff makes ordering and pick-up easy. Prices are fair.

Ratings_icons Great Indian Food

They have one of the best Indian buffet in town. The restaurent is small but very nicely decorated and the food is simply lovely. The Lunch buffet offers a vast array of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes, bread, salad and desserts. The food is prepared fresh inhouse and is aromatic and flavorful. There is plenty of free parking available and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a hearty sunday brunch.

PROS: Food, Ambience

This is a good indian restaurant with good food and customer service. The food is always good and draws me back. They also have excellent catering service. It is a little difficult to locate this place tough from the main road. If you will visit this place once, you will keep visiting it.

Ratings_icons Worst Service and Most Impolite Staff

drdatt

My husband and I visited this restaurant because it was in the Entertainment book and also had some good reviews. Unfortuantely, we were poorly treated and served the wrong food. We asked for soda and they were served at the end of the meal. The food was not worth the price at all. I was very disappointed with the store manager/owner, he visited every table to check on the service and food and by-passed our table and gave us a very uneasy look. We both felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave the restaurant. We also noticed that another customer had to complain because he was waiting 30 minutes for his take out food, this was after his meal. He said he needed to go but he had already paid for the food. The gentleman that sat next to us was waiting for his bill and the waiter refilled his water to the brim. The poor man reached for the glass and realised that he couldn't even drink it.
I must say, 4 stars for this restuarant ???? I get better service at McDonalds.

Pros: None

Cons: Slow service, impolite staff

Ratings_icons Love the Buffet

louise60564

The buffet served at lunch is a great value. You have the opportunity to sample a variety of foods, which you may have never ordered of the menu. When I dine there with my family for dinner we often order a Thali so we can again eat a variety of dishes. The food is fresh and I like that now you can see in the kitchen as your food is being prepared. The atmosphere is very nice as well. The best place to eat indian in Naperville.

Pros: Great variety

Cons: Servers could be more friendly.

Ratings_icons Two words: Tandori shrimp!

conservativemike

Great Indian restaurant! Once you've tried the Tandori shrimp, you'll keep coming back. The Ghost lamb are the best lamb chops I've had in the Chicagoland area (and this includes Greek restaurants). If your a lager beer fan, you have to try the Flying Horse. Service might be a tad slow, but everything else is exceptional. Flying Horse + garlic naan bread + Tandori shrimp = one great meal!!!

Pros: Tandori shrimp, Ghost lamb & Flying Horse beer

Cons: North side of Naperville

Ratings_icons New and Improved sometimes isn't

Kenny1978

Used to be a great fan of the old location...great food with a nice fresh open feeling in the restaurant. The new location is divided into small rooms with little interaction. The buffet items are now more limited and they are using poorer quality meats. We've given the new location two tries and the service was poor on both visits with staff that seemed disinterested.. It's a shame to lose a good spot for good Indian food, but they'll have to improve.

Pros: Still serve a good tasting meal

Cons: The staff is completely disinterested in you

Ratings_icons Lazy service and bland food

kirtisharma

This restaurant was referred to me by my friend in Naperville. However, the service at Indian Harvest was awful. We had to wait 45 minutes for the food. In that time the server just came once to give water. The food was very average (even after a long wait). The paneer vegetable gravy was bland. The chicken seemed stale. We had upset stomach after the dinner. The owner seemed to have an attitude when we spoke to him about the delay and food.
Our last time to this restaurant. I'd pick any other indian restaurant in the neighborhood.

Pros: Parking

Cons: Service, food
