If you are serious about working out then you go to Quads. This is not some pretty health club. It's a real gym.

Quads Gym is a fun gym with a lot of different cardio machines. The classes they offer are a good workout.

Quads gym is a rare find if you have been looking for a serious body building gym in Chicago. This gym is not like some of the other bubble gum health clubs in the city. Downstairs is all cardio equipment, with an area for stretching and abs. The upstairs is a combination of state of the art equipment, and old school weights. They have everything from hammer strength machines to old school dumbells and weights. It's not a gym that gets super busy. Usually their rush hour is between 5pm and 7pm, and even then it's not too bad. One draw back is the parking. If you are driving, you will be forced to park at a meter on the street. If you do find yourself on the northside, check this place out. You have to look for though because it's tucked away on Broadway. I think a day pass is ten bucks, but I can't be sure since I'm a member.

Pros: Best Serious body building gym

Cons: Equipment is to close together

Be careful with the staff here if visitng or plan to join, very judgemental, very disappointed how they treat people. Good old fashioned gym that scares people away

This is a hard core gym. If you want a spa, an internet cafe, a variety of classes, or a place to score pick-ups, this is not your gym. People come for the huge variety of weight machines. Its no frills so don't expect it. People who work out here are serious about their fitness goals and it shows. You'll see more perfect bodies at Quads than at any other gym in the city. Having said that, there is no attitude there. People are focused on their own workouts, so if you are out of shape, don't worry. You won't be judged, and you can ask anyone, staff or members, for advice, help or information. I love it here.
