Dr. McGinnis, Dr. Spatz and Dr. Helgren are fantastic veterinarians and the staff at ACCLV are always a pleasure to talk to. I never feel rushed by them and always get the sense that they truly care about each animal. The entire staff is very personable and knowledgeable and all are willing to answer as many questions as you may have. I like the size of the practice because it is big enough to allow you to get in when you need to, but small enough so that everyone knows you and your pet individually. Dr. McGinnis, the founder, is a brilliant diagnostician and can unravel very tricky medical issues, like my dog's rare form of cancer. He and his team also do a lot of charitable work for local rescue organizations and truly reach out to animals in need. This is an excellent animal hospital!

About Us Proudly serving the communities of Lake Villa, Antioch, Fox Lake, Grayslake, Gurnee, Ingleside, Libertyville, Lindenhurst, Mundelein, Spring Grove, Round Lake, & Round Lake Beach in north central Lake County, the Chain O’lakes area & northeast McHenry County Illinois since 1993. Honoring the Human-Animal Bond Many pet owners look upon their pets as members of their families. We feel the same way. We understand that your pet holds a valued place in your life and your heart, so we have made it our goal to respect and honor that special bond by providing the best possible care for your pet. We hope your experience at our hospital is warm and educational each and every time you visit. No question is trivial and we will take the time to help you understand your pets’ health. We feel strongly that an open and honest relationship between our staff and clients is essential to strengthening and promoting the human-animal bond. We consider ourselves your partners in keeping your pet happy and healthy lifelong. Staying at the Forefront of Veterinary Excellence Your trust in us adds up to a special responsibility. One way we fulfill this responsibility is by remaining on the forefront of veterinary medicine. That’s why all of our staff regularly attends continuing education. It’s important to us to stay informed and up-to-date on advances in veterinary care. In addition, we work hard to maintain accreditation by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). What AAHA Accreditation Means to You Our AAHA accreditation means you can feel confident that we have achieved challenging benchmarks in every aspect of our practice—and have done so since our first accreditation in 1996. Our hospital is evaluated on more than 800 standards—the most rigorous in the industry—directly correlating to the care we provide your pet. We must open our doors willingly and without reservations to an AAHA consultant for an inspection that lasts all day and is repeated with added sets of standards every three years. We meet or exceed standards that are widely used as benchmarks of excellence in veterinary medicine and are periodically updated to reflect clinical advances. In short, AAHA accreditation sets an animal hospital apart from others. Many animal hospitals are members of AAHA and can utilize some of their resources. But only a very few – approximately 14% of American hospitals – are actually accredited. We are proud of our AAHA accreditation.
