the best store and the only good family store in town. i don't know what other people say about it. anything you cant find in town you can find at home run. they have little things and big things, and they have the best Italian beef in the county. every time i go to new york, my mom always reminds me to bring her one.

The Home Run is great. I have been a patron of this store for 8 years, and am have taken photos with the owners. They have always treated me with the utmost respect. This is why I make it a point to do absolutely little to no business with the neighbors that will barely take a brief moment to look you in the eyes. They take and count your money, give you your change, and shuffle you along. I have a family member that regularly works in this Phillips 66 as this family member has for many years, and the owners do not even know my name. Home Run is Very clean as it is run by Muslims, who may not be very liked, but have hygiene and cleanliness that is immaculate. Moreover, their attention to the individual customer is unique in ways you cannot find in the larger cities. This is a true C-U oriented business.

I don't know what the other guy is talking about. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Yes, the neighborhood is bad. You should already know what you're getting into if you've been in town long. This is a family ran place. These guys that work here don't let crap happen that shouldn't. They work their butts off. I've been patronizing their business for over five years now and have NEVER felt uncomfortable there, and I am a young woman of the pale ethnicity. They have everything you'd expect a convenience store to have, and honestly it gives me the vibe of a big city corner store, like a shop in nyc or in south side chicago. Their prices are reasonable, and if you ask them politely they are very willing to help. One of the men who works there teaches yoga classes in Urbana, and all of them are nice as pie to customers who can be mean or difficult to deal with. These are good guys. You should give them your business. The store has been cleaned up quite a bit recently, and they do have great sandwiches and a good stock of liquor, which is the reason you would be in there anyways. And who doesn't like a shop keeper that remembers you after a couple of stops?

Family owned and managed...Great staff, very friendly, they remember their clients names..if the total is 72 cents they ask for 70 etc..The Home Run is locally owned so the money you spend stays local as opposed to the big chains.
I always make it a point to stop off at the Home Run even though it is far from my house and office. Great little hometown convenience store!

Home Run Food Mart is not a place I would stop unless I absolutely had to. The store is dirty and run down. Several items I have found in there are expired and outdated and sometimes even already open. The staff are not friendly or helpful. It is not a safe area, it is known for fights and robberies.
