Our school group went to Colletti's for our Christmas dinner, and even though we had called in a final count of 26 at the right time, they said they did not "remember" that count and made us pay for 30. They turned an otherwise nice experience into a banquet hall nightmare, and we will certainly never book them again. IF you are having a banquet, make sure you get everything in writing. Don't rely on phone calls or their remembering what numbers you confirm with them. It didn't even help that we knew exactly who we had talked to by name - she just didn't "remember" the final count. Great way to run a business !!

We had a wonderful lunch at Colletti's on a recent visit to Chicago. It's so nice to have a neighborhood restaurant that has fine dining at reasonable prices. We have been there on many visits and it has always been good.

We have had several family function banquet's at Colletti's and all of them have been great.

The steak and the chicken are both equally delicious. The sides are very generous and the servers are top notch.

To be honest, the first I heard of this place was in grade school (I think). One of my classmates and his family went there one night and couldn't stop raving about it the next day. So I guess the name stuck around all this time. I guess the title of my review is the best way I can describe the place. In my expereince, it's like going to Gale Street Inn for ribs without paying the price you would when going to, let's say, Miller's Pub. It's very good Italian food with a couple non traditional dishes thrown in the mix. They also have a pretty small, but good, wine list. But the place is pretty small and intimate which could be a good thing for dates and family gatherings, but can hurt in terms of waiting for a table. The cuisine itself is pretty simple, mostly things you can find in any common Italian restaurant only better tasting and cheaper in price. My favorite would have to be the Linguine with White Clam Sauce along with the Escargot appitizer (which to my knowledge is the only other restaurant that carries this appitizer since the Berghoff closed...only the Berghoff's was better). I really suggest going off the the beaten path and trying this place out. Don't be seduced by simple Italian cuisine which probably came pre frozen at that national chain. You won't be disapointed.

Pros: Simple Italian cuisine, close to my house, cheaper than Downtown places

Cons: may need reservations, somewhat unknown destination

Some of the best value dining anywhere in Chicago. BUT be very careful at the bar, sometimes I like to eat at the bar in a joint like this, some of the bar staff are just interested in talking to the regulars and will ignore someone they dont know for as much as 5 minutes! We were treated in a very unsatisfactory manner I felt like a gate crasher! I like local places and understand that a place like this lives and dies on the regular business, but I cannot understand how a server like this exists, obviously the tip system isnt working! When you are offerred a booth for God's sake take it! Peter Cooper 773 616 8773.

This is popular with the Northwest side residents. I was surprised by how extensive their menu of authentic Italian cuisine is. Excellent steaks and ribs as well. This is a place I would recommend for a special occasion, they are slightly on the upscale side. The servers all work very hard and are attentive, but not so much so that they are stalkers, do you know what I mean. Some places that kind of attentiveness can make you uncomfortable. There is a parking lot which is always a plus for me.

PROS: Lots of Parking, good servers
CONS:
