I had a TERRIBLE experience with the designer at Graystone Home... I found the furniture proposed to me at other locations in the city for a much better deal. When confronted with the price difference, I was told that Graystone Home was not in the market to compete for business. I was truly offended by these comments. As well as when I did order pieces from them. Well let's put it this way, after over 6 months of "delays in fabric", "manufacturer closing for holidays", "shipping the wrong piece", "chair arrived damaged" (although no proof was offered as to the damage), and virtually no communication from the designer involved I tried to cancel my order. Only to be told I'd have to pay a "restocking" fee per store policy. Obviously there is NO CUSTOMER satisfaction guarantee involed with Graystone Home. I'd NEVER recommend this business to any friend or even an enemy.

Quite disappointed!

Pros: Being able to design custom furniture

Cons: Lack of customer service or satisfaction from staff

I too was impressed with the quality and style of the merchandise at Graystone, but equally impressed with the level of professionalism and product knowledge of the staff. Their design program/fee schedule is very affordable and clearly defined. I found no hidden charges and they clearly covered what was billable and what was not. The layout that they did was perfect for my space and they worked within my budget. Since it is a design oriented business, I too was shown photos of the products that they were suggesting for my space during my presentation, which was billable time, as was explained to me prior to my consultation and again after my consultation. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and I would highly recommend them to my friends. It was something that I could not have done by myself, family and friends are amazed at what I have accomplished. Having read the previous review prior to visiting the showroom, I was aprehensive about their services but after speaking with the designer, my doubts were quickly dispersed. It was an enjoyable experience, my designer listened to my ideas and developed a plan for my space that expressed my wants and needs. Now having seen the results of their work, I had to follow up with my own review of my experience.

Pros: Quality merchandise. Extensive options to customize the product. Upper moderate to high end merchandise. Experienced designers. Flexible hours.
Cons: Parking? (its the city - go figure!)

I was impressed with the quality and style of the merchandise at Graystone, so I was completely & utterly disappointed by the lack of professionalism & service from its design staff. I forgave many errors at first, such as a room design created on incorrect room dimensions, hidden design time costs, as well as failures to return my calls. Since the store is only open public Saturdays, so trying to get a hold of designer was nearly impossible. Finally I cornered the designer regarding two design charges I didn't feel were valid-one session the designer gave us completely obsolete drapery fabric books to look at & the other time we stopped in the store to see photos of merchandise he wanted to sell us. He replied the charges were valid & it was simply a matter of store policy. Perhaps it's just a store that I'd rather not deal with.
