Just like some of the other reviewers below, I was also deeply overcharged on move-out and the handling of security deposit was very unprofessional. I asked their permission to paint the kitchen cabinets and they even supplied the paint to match the right color, and they tried to charge me on the way out, first stating it was due to the paint color, then when I showed them they provided it, claimed it was due to ""damage"" and these cabinets were very well taken care of. I made improvements including new countertop, new vanity in the bathroom, with the agreed understanding they would keep these things on the way out, then they charged me for ""uncustomizing"" essentially making me pay again for my improvements to their property, which they had previously agreed to with the understanding they got to keep it when I moved out. When I disputed the charges, they budged on only the carpet issue (I actually paid for it on the way in), but changed their story on everything else. I had thought it was finally settled when I never heard back after the dispute correspondence, then 4 full years later get a phone call from a collections company claiming they ""couldn't find me"" despite that I was at the very same address they were corresponding with, somehow they forgot to put the house number on the letter they sent (I know this because the collection agency sent me a copy) and only had the street. So apparently for the last 4 years I have had this blemish on my credit with literally no idea. Just to get the whole thing over with I made a few (in my mind generous) offers to split their trumped up version of the bill and they insisted they would only accept the whole (very large) amount. Not only was the way this was handled dishonest and downright deceitful, it was also incompetent and indicative or very poor management and communication skills. They should know in this era of social media that someone who feels this strongly they were mistreated will do their best to warn future prospective customers for their own good. Like the reviewers below said, they charge for non-issues, and when challenged, change the story and charge anyway, no negotiation, no communication, straight to the collection agency without any effective communication of that ever having happened. Come on people, don't you know how to address a letter?!
