My mother and I have been going to Lauren for many years now. We were her customers when she owned her own salon. Now she's here at Lu's under her sister Sandy's direction. She is the best. She is the best nail cleaner (meaning cuticle and nail bed) in Chicago. Never ever have I had a manicurist that even remotely comes close to Lauren's expertise! She also knows how to apply polish correctly. She is the best at everything. I am 27 now and have been getting weekly manicures since I was about 13. I get a manicure every week but my mother has gone 2 weeks+ with a manicure from Lauren with no chips. Its amazing what happens when you go to someone who knows their profession. I have had a manicure with Sandy and with Ling and they are also fabulous 2. Their salon is clean and they are very aware of sterilization procedures. I am very particular and picky about my nails. Sometimes I can't get in right away and I am forced to go elsewhere, which I hate! I compare every one to Lauren. There is only one other person in Chicago that knows what a good manicure is...her name is Yuliana (at Mario Tricocci in the bloomies building). Oh and I can't forget Sam! Sam worked under Lauren when she had her own salon then Sam bought a salon of her own. She recently quit to move to the suburbs. If you can believe it my mother sometimes goes to Roselle to get mani/pedis from Sam. You simply must give them a try...if you can get in. It is getting harder every time, its like I have to book it 2 weeks in advance which can be hard since our schedules are so hectic. The only thing I wish they would do is create a mani/pedi special. Their mani's are $17 and pedi's are $36. So its kind of pricey compared to all the other nail shops that are on every corner. But this is not one of "those" salons. We keep going back every week because its not worth it to save a few bucks and get a bad mani. They truly are the best in the city! You will be soooo happy!
