Ratings_icons Solid Family Dinner around U-C

One of the nicer places to take your family out when they come to campus. Good prices and terrific food. Lots of varieties in types of pizzas (thin crust).

I ate at Biaggi's throughout my five years at the University of Illinois. I always had a fantastic time, and a great meal for a really reasonable price. I'd highly recommend this restaurant.

Ratings_icons Not all it's hyped up to be

I was there with my partner recently over for dinner.
At first, we were impressed with the decoration and ambience of the place, it seemed like good business and good service. When the waitress came, she seemed almost "unnaturally" smiley, like a robot that was engineered to smile. She would tilt her head far to the side and give a wide smile, it just didn't feel real.

When she brought the food, my partner's plate was just cold---not hot, and they had to take it back to reheat it and we waited longer.

When the plate came back, it was good to eat, but 2/3ths into the plate, I started feeling weird in my stomach. Maybe it's just me, but I found the food very rich, with literally sweet tomato sauces, oily concoctions and too much salt.

In addition, eating for two cost nearly $70! for a cold plate and less-than-satisfactory service. I have had "family-owned" Italian for two for less price, better taste, and softer, more genuine service.

Compared to other same price range Italian restaurants, Biaggi's is not so pricey. Its big portion is worth what you pay for it. The taste is quite good, although it is not the best. It is family friendly. .
