5 Stars: Perfect every time (by Francine C.)

We are sushi lovers, and have tried many places around Chicago and out of town, but always come back to Katsu. About 10 years ago some friends who live in that neighborhood took us there. The rest is history. Although farther than we usually travel to go out to eat locally, Katsu is a gem on the far north side. Any time someone asks for a restaurant recommendation, I always say Katsu no matter what cuisine they like. You will never be disappointed. If you are not into raw fish, they have other Japanese dishes to delight you. You can always tell that Asian ethinic food is high quality and authentic when you are the only non-Asian customers in the place. Then you know they do it right.

4 Stars: best sushi, but a little far. (by Wendi F.)

I checked out Katsu on the recommendation of several Japanese friends. It's a bit of a distance for me and it's not your fancy Lincoln park sushi place, but it never disappoints. They pride themselves on having hard to find fish and the pieces are a good size. The sashimi melts in your mouth, incredible.
