Fun place to dine with a great outdoor patio. Good place to meet a friend or to have a larger gathering. Wide variety on their menus.

I love this restaurant! In the summer and fall they have a very nice outdoor patio for dining. Their menu is great too. They have a wonder selection and everything I've ever ordered is wonderful. It's also a great place to have a business lunch during the week.

This is a great place for a beer they have on of the biggest selections for imported beers. The hamburger is good. The place is mostly booths which puts a damper on big groups. Has a beer garden in good weather.

I am a long time La Grange resident who is proud to support local business. In the past I have been to Palmers many times and recommend it to out of town friends for it's extensive beer menu. This weekend (memorial day weekend) I had family in town and we wanted to go there for 1 drink (it was 10pm and we knew they were closing) before closing. at 10pm, the waitress greeted us rudely and very inappropriately and said that 1 hour before close she would need manager appropoval to serve us before we even said a word. Then she waited 15 minuts to even come take an order (while we observed many patrones getting new drinks and other waitresses taking drink orders). Once she arrived same rude and innapropriate tone and attitude. Frankely the food is not that great and if this is the type of service that Palmers wants to provide as a ""neighborhood"" restaurant I would rather support other local restaurant that appreciates the business of those in the community. \r

And I will NEVER recommend Palmers to an out of town friend again.

Great dining area and very good selection of beer. I love sitting on their patio on a nice summer day!

Went to Palmer's at 1 pm on baseball's opening day 2008. The place has about 20 TV screens. I'm a baseball fan, so opening day is a big deal for me. On this day, all the TVs were turned to the Cubs station, but the Cubs game wasn't set to start for another 30 minutes. So I asked the waitress to turn on ESPN so I could watch another ballgame that was going on. The waitress went away, but ESPN was never turned on. So I asked a manager the same thing, but he looked confused and said the Cubs and Sox were starting their games in 30 minutes. I said I know, but I'd like to watch a ballgame now before I had to return to work. He went away but nothing happened. The waitress eventually walked past my table and asked how everything was. I said okay but that I'd like to get a ballgame on TV. She then became really snooty. Finally, when I was just about finished with my plate of nachos---which had to be the worst I've had in a restaurant, all soupy and with chips that were broken into little bits---one of the TVs was switched to ESPN. I guess I must've gotten on the wrong side of the waitress because she never came back to refill my cola. I also had to flag her down to get my check. When she came to my table, she tossed the bill at me, and when I gave her money to pay the bill, she gave me change without saying thank you. By the way, the bill was $17 for lousy nachos, a cup of soup, and a cola. I left no tip, which is the first time I've ever done that. But the waitress was rude, selfish, and arrogant, so she got what she deserved. (I didn't catch her name, but she was in her 20s, had glasses and brown hair, and was a bit overweight.) I've been to Palmer's plenty of times, but I don't think I'll go back, not after the way I was treated. You'd think I was putting them out for making a simple request. This place now rates a zero for me.

Pros: lots of TVs

Cons: rude waitress, horrible nachoes

The biergarten is a great place to have a beer, meet friends or just people watch during the summer months. The food service, whether appetizers or entrees, is so slow it boggles the mind. And this is constant, whether during the summer when the place is crawling with people, or during the winter with the place half empty. And this is for bar food. Its as if they have one George Foremen grill working since if you have a party over 5 people, the food may come out in shifts. Obviously, the profits are in the beer. Go for beer and leave the overcooked hamburgers on the grill.

Pros: Beer

Cons: Food Service

This place has good ""bar food"", great selection of beer and a great outside seating area! The staff is always friendly and it's a great place for kids.

Pros: great outdoor dining, good for kids, great selection of beer

Cons: can be a wait for outdoor seating during nice weather

I've been here several times. Dinners are good, but the sandwiches are terrific. Very unique and served with great side orders. All around six to eight bucks. It's a beer lovers paradise with 38 beers and hard ciders on tap, and about 300 bottled domestic and imports. Service has always been good, even on crowded nights.

Pros: plenty of seating

Cons: , no hard liquor

★★★★★

Palmer Place is such a good choice. They have good food, great beer selection, friendly staff and a fabulous outdoor patio. A few times when I've been there they even had some fun live music outside. I think this is one of the best choices for dining and drinking you could find in the area.

Pros: great outdoor area, good food, great fun

Cons: service can be slow
