This is a really cute place. The panini I had there was decent, but my favorite thing about the place is it's interior.

This is a small old fashion cafe that offers delicious coffees and great food. As a vegetarian, there are many options avaliable. The sandwiches are made with the freshest vegetables, my only concern is the price. The prices continue to go up and now its like 8 or 9 dollars for a sandwich. The food is good but overpriced, that is why I chose Satisfactory. If you are looking to go to a nice lunch and spend the money, then this is the place. If you are looking for a reasonable cafe meal, this is not the right place to go.

I love this place. Really friendly staff and good coffee. What can I say? Try The Sun Also Rises. AMAZING. Nice find for sure.

I've never dined "in" here, but the other night I was craving breakfast food at 9PM. After a little online searching, I happened upon the Pig -- which serves breakfast all day, every day. I ordered the breakfast burrito and a side of fruit, and they both were to die for. You can tell they make everything fresh, daily. The best part about it was they delivered my late night breakfast meal by bicycle. How quaint! I'll definitely order from them again, and when the weather is nicer, I'll stroll over there to check out their old victorian decor.

I love this place. Charming setting, amazing food that is always fresh. The owner is really nice too. Very friendly. He treats everyone like he knows them for years. Check it out. Have lunch or a breakfast burrito. SO Good. Best food in that neck of the woods!

Pros: Great place to people watch...

Cons: A little crowded on weekends...

Check out the Pig. It has amazing food and an outdoor patio that can't be beat in the warmer months. The food is always healthy and fresh. The baristas are really friendly and give really friendly service. I love going there just to hand out and watch all the other folks....very good for people watching. I work around the Pig and just learned they deliver. Good to know. Pretty cool.

The "Pig" as DePaul students affecionately call it is one of this neighborhood's best kept secrets. It's a small cafe in an antique Lincoln Park house with loyal, regular customers that keep coming back for the amazing menu and atmosphere that is truly one-of-a-kind! Dilectable gourmet homemade sandwiches, soups, salads, great breakfast items, ice creams, a treasure trove of homemade baked goods, an enormous list of gourmet teas, and of course, great coffee are what keep this place in business.
During the quiet periods, it's a great place to relax with a coffee and a book, and if you don't have your own to read, they have shelves stocked with them. It's often busy, but never too crowded, and even when it's busy, the service is still great and not too slow.
This place is a must for anyone who enjoys a genuine and unique experience with great food!

This little cafe offers excellent coffee and tea, plus healthy hearty salads, and an endless list of tasty sandwiches! It is a great place to hang out with friends for a coffee, or grab lunch to go and head to the beach or park! Be patient though, good things come to those who wait, and they put a lot of love into preparing your food!

This is a nice, mellow coffee shop. Good coffee & tea, and a huge selection of tasty salads and sandwiches. Everything about it is nice besides being a little cramped at times and fairly slow service of food items. But well-worth it in my eyes and a very nice change from the cookie cutter coffee shops that we mostly find in the US nowadays.

I just saw the Pig on Rachel Ray's Tasty Travels and stopped in to see what all the fuss was about. It's funny, I've lived in the hood for 3 years but never stopped in until I saw the Pig on the show. So, I popped in for some coffee/lunch and was very impressed. The food was fresh and the coffee was dark - just the way I like it! Check this place out. Staff was friendly and the Pig was impressive. JT

This cafe used to be a hangout for socialists and leftist thinkers apparently. Now it's a cozy cafe for college students and the bohemian set who want to lounge in plush sofas, sipping home-brewed coffee and perusing the many leftist tomes on the wood-paneled shelves.

The first floor looks like your typical mom-and-pop coffeehouse - a bit cramped, long lines waiting for coffe or for some of the hefty portions of mouthwatering hot sandwiches and cakes. Up the narrow staircase you'll find what looks like a dark library with long dark tables and couches. You can place your food order downstairs and someone will bring up your food to the library.

There seems to be a large variety of items on the chalkboard menu, which can get a bit cluttered and hard to read. Otherwise, this cafe is a refreshing revisit to the salon type of teatime discussion of the events of the day.

The Pig is such a cool place! The food is amazing and the baristas are very cute! It is a good place to relax, catch up with friends or read. The upstairs is like an old library and the classical music is very fitting. Keep it up Pig! This place is great. Scotty...

This place is more of a shelter for college kids who can't sleep in the dorms. Maybe we caught them at a bad time but there is a definite malodorous aire to the place.

If you enjoy watching college girls drinking coffee and discussing the finer points of art, literature, politics, etc., this is your place. This place definitely has an attractive younger crowd. Most importantly though, it has excellent coffee and espresso drinks and the food is pretty good too. Best coffe shop in the city.

I went because I had heard the coffee was excellent there and I was in great need of a good coffee. I have been hooked ever since that first visit! There are many reasons to recommend the Bourgeois Pig. . .But I will tell you the top two, the coffee and service. But just telling you two would do a disservice to THE FOOD! It wont disappoint whether you go for breakfast or lunch.

The quintessential indie-style coffee house complete with cluttered walls, bulletin boards advertising local alterno-bands, and staff with the classic stoner appearance. Don't visit Lincoln Park without stopping by here, I stayed at Arlington House a block away and ate here every day.

I love the Pig, because like the original coffeehouses, it is born of politics and independent owners striving to please locals with charm and value instead of robotic service.

I went to DePaul for the last two years of college, and at first, the name of the place kinda freaked me out, but I went in, and I loved it! The tea is out of this world and though it can get crowded on the first floor, the upstairs is a great place to sit if you want to get away!! I also love the lattes and the sandwhiches are pretty good as well.

The fact that the Pig is credited in the acknowledgement page of my Ph.D. disseration is praise enough. And no where has better tea.

I've been going to the pig for probably a year now and it is by far one of my favorite hang-outs in the city. The people who work there are nice, the fod is always good, and the coffee is great. Also, they have one of the largest tea selections I have seen, probably around forty different teas. Highly reccommended. If you go, I'll be the guy writing in the window!
