I visited this museum, which is really a nature center, with my pre-teen nephews. We were all facinated by the close-up view we got of a coyote, fox, owl and tree frogs. We also enjoyed going on a walk in the woods. We saw chewed-up trees and logs from wild beavers, by the DesPlaines River.
This is a good place to visit if you want to get outside in nature for a few hours. There is no admission fee. The musuem also offers nature classes most weekends.
You can also pick up information and maps about trails and other nearby outdoor stuff at their front desk.

This place is not really a museum - it is a very small nature center that has lots of local animals on display. I especially like the outdoor coyote - it even howled for us when a siren went by! The crow (inside) also is fun to interact

In Short
The collection of animals includes native birds and wildlife such as opossums, raccoons and owls. Don't miss the "A Day in the Life of a Beaver" exhibit in the upstairs Nature Center. This museum is worth a stop if in…
