I worked here for almost a year my 1st year out of high school. The director is sneaky and tries to find ways around DCFS regulations whenever possible. They don't care about if their staff is teacher qualified or not. And the director is friends with the DCFS person in charge of their center. I called anomyously to DCFS to tell them to look into the classroom ratios and teacher quialified people in each room. The day the man from DCFS came to check up things, as soon as he was pulling in the parking lot, the assistant director came running into my room and pulled 5 kids out of their cots and brought them back into the room for their age group even though I had them in my room every day for 6 months - making me WAY out of ratio! The man came into my room, asked me how many I had and if I was teacher qualified. I told him what had just happened because he saw the 5 empty cots I had refused to put away on the floor. He said "OH" and then asked me if I was teacher qualified. I told him no, I'm just out of highschool. He said ok, and left. Two weeks later I recieved a lettter from DCFS because I had given them a friend's address so I could be informed of the outcome, and it said my claim was unfounded. My director informed me that I would no longer be needed there once she found out I called again, this time informing them I was the person who called the first time, what had happened with their investigator and that it was still going on. Aparently following through with state regulations and honoring promises make to parents about ratios and staff experience isnt important here. I completed that day, telling each of the parents that I was leaving and why. Half of my class promptly removed their children from the school. The director is still the same person now, 4 years later. And I am told by the 1 other staff member who is still there at they still work the same way there, and the turnover for teachers and other staff is about 3 months before they get fed up and leave. DON'T TRUST THEM!!! Not to mention the food they serve is not healthy, mostly TV dinner stuff, worse than they serve on the hot lunch trays in highschool. And when I was there they didn't have someone to drive the bus for school runs, so they would pick ramdom staff members, who they had never don driving records on, and one of our staff had been in 9 accidents!
PROS: If you want to make your ex husband pay a lot of money on daycare, go here!
CONS: BAD BAD BAD, your kids will not be cared for well here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
