This practice is run by a husband (Dr. Price) and wife (Dr, Boeing). The up side: When we first moved to BG years ago we were astounded by the fact that this vet had an EKG machine on premises and provided pets' blood work results while we waited. They were (and are) a huge step up from the other vets we have used. Both vets are very warm, friendly people who genuinely care about the animals. They also attempt to rule out all potential causes of your pet's health issue. This is VERY much appreciated. The down side: they are, bar none, the most expensive general veterinary practice I have ever encountered. They are as expensive as the Veterinary Speciality Center just down the street from them - every single time I take my cat to the office I pay a MINIMUM of $200. If X-rays or blood work are involved then that figure doubles (sometimes MORE than doubles). Dr. Boeing in particular looks for every opportunity to pad the bill with additional services and makes you feel guilty if you decline. This year I took my cat to Grove to have a cough checked out. Well, $800 later - $400 to Grove, $400 to the Veterinary Specialty Center where I had to go after Grove told me she had a life-threatening condition - I found out Grove misdiagnosed her condition. They also gave me medication to give her for the condition she DIDN'T have and it was pretty strong stuff, causing her to become really dehydrated. So I did not appreciate that experience. The major problem though is the huge expense associated with using this vet, especially because at any given time they have six to eight vet techs sitting behind the counter talking. I am switching vets because of this last experience with my cat, and also because I just cannot afford to go there anymore - though the expense would be less of a problem if they hadn't screwed up my cat's diagnosis.
