I think Katie A had the wrong bar. Monday nights at the Alamo are called Blue Monday. The entertainment is blues bands - NOT jazz. Many of the bands come from as far as California, Florida and Canada. The age of the crowd varies, some 20s and 30s but mostly 40s and 50s. It's a friendly atmosphere with cheap drinks and the cover on Monday is only $2.
A great place to go for a Monday night out.

Thursday nights are $1 Miller products... Monday nights are jazz nights. Drinks are generally cheap and the crowd is young (read barely legal) on the weekends, but weeknights the crowd is a strange mix of business men, college-age girls, old bikers and snobby alternative music enthusiasts... The beer garden is not horribly pretty nor does if offer much of a veiw (a parking lot) but it's nice to be outside and it is kept clean. And when they're real busy they have a bar they operate outside so you don't have to go back in for more beer.
