We adopted a dog from a local animal shelter and we got a free visit to Wheaton Animal Hospital. They insisted that he have the canine influenza shot to be a patient there, so we did it. I also told the vet that saw us that we hadn't been able to get him to eat the week that we had had him and was told that he would start eventually. He went on a Thursday in weighing 88 pounds by Saturday he was vomiting and had severe diahhrea. We went back because our regular vet's office was closed by noon. When I weighed him he was 80 pounds. He threw up in the waiting room and when they got him back to the exam room he layed on the floor and looked for all the world like he was never getting up again. They called the shelter and the prior owner, but in the end all they could come up with was that he had some sort of infection (duh). We ended up with a bill that was over $500.00 and still had problems with the injection site in his side where he got an absess that had to be drained. We went to our regular vets office and they said that it was pretty much the canine influenza vaccine that caused him to get so sick. I will never go back there.

Dr. Lancaster did a wonderful job of surgery on our cat and it was VERY reasonably priced compared to all the other vets out there....on top of it, he was sooooo great to work with and knew that although we love our kitty, we were also very concerned about spending insane amounts of money...This is our new vet!

I love wheaton animal hospital. all the doctors are very knowledgeable, the technicians are very friendly and very good at what they do, the receptionists are very kind as well as the rest of the staff. I refer all of my friends there and they all love this hospital. I have brought all my animals there for years and they are all very healthy, I credit this place for their health.

I bought a puppy from a store because I knew it was sick. The first Vet visit was free so instead of going to my normal vet I took the puppy here. She said he may have an upper resp. infection but should be fine. I knew this wasn't the case and went to my regular vet. They told me he should be immediately rushed to the emergency animal hospital. He was kept there for 4 days and had such a bad pneumonia that he still has scar tissues on his lungs. They told me if I hadn't brought him in he would have died within a week. There is no excuse for the the Vet at the Wheaton Animal Hospital to miss something so obvious. I will never go here again, free or not!

I take all three of my pets to this vet. I like the drop-in policy and the care is top notch. Dr. Lancaster is especially great. The staff is friendly and the office is bright and clean. The cost is reasonable as well.

After adopting a dog from a local humane society, she had to come here to be spayed. They put a 13 inch incision on her belly, and this is only a medium sized dog. They gave us no aftercare instructions, no antibiotics, no nothing. Needless to say, the wound got infected and required multiple trips to our regular vet to be corrected.
