We went to VCA because it is FREE!!! to get your first check-up when you adopt a dog from PAWS (an awesome no-kill shelter on Clybourn). They have lots of clinics around town, but Chi-North is the closest to our house. They don't take appointments, but that's not a problem, as they generally can get you into see a vet in 10-15 min (usually sooner). The staff and doctors there are wonderful. Everyone is into making sure you know everything you need to before you leave. They take great care of Buster when he stops in. As new puppy owners, we have lots of questions and concerns. They are very patient with us, and provide many of the initial services for little to no cost due to their relationship with PAWS.
