CPM does not even deserve 1 star. CPM is TERRIBLE. I have lived here for 2.5 months and the elevator has probably broken on 10 different occasions. I live on the top floor and have chronic back problems, which limit my ability to walk/ do stairs. I am currently stuck in my 7th floor apartment because the elevator is broken again. Kathryn (landlord) told my mother it would be fixed in 1.5 hours (4 hours ago) and then when Mike Jay (owner) was called he said 1 hour (at least 3 hours ago). After talking to maintenance we learned that the elevator will not be fixed any time soon. Mike Jay has no idea what is going on with his buildings, nor does he care. In January we had a 1 and a half week stretch where the temperatures outside were in the negatives. During this time our heat in our apartment was broken. It took numerous phone calls to get CPM's attention and they did the absolute minimum to fix the problem.
Mike Jay is cheap. He does the absolute minimum to fix every problem in the building. He is TERRIBLE. NEVER LIVE WITH CPM.

The buildings are falling apart, and minimal maintenance is ever done.
The management is a Joke, Katie is the worst person to deal with
You will NOT get your security deposit back, they will add Illegal charges to your account and then refuse to respond to multiple emails, calls, and attempts to discuss the bill.
Most of their buildings are not up to code and can be possibly harmful for your health to live in.
Their Public Relations manager Mr. Jay is wonderful at covering things up so that the terrible antics that they pull off do not get out in the community.

Do not live with CPM, you will regret your decision as I did. This company's business model is to take advantage of college students and their parents money.

They will make many promises and never deliver on any of them. If you need anything done, you need to go down to the management office for them to pay attention to you.

This company is so kind. I have lived with them for two years now and have had nothing but wonderful experiences dealing with them. Two years ago I ordered something online over winter break and had it shipped to my school/cpm address because it was supposed to take a while to get there. It came very early and I called the company who said they left it at my door. I did not know what to do so I called cpm and asked if someone could pick up my package so it would not get stolen. They were so nice and professional and had someone go to my apartment and put my package inside. Every time I call with a concern or a maintenance request they always help me right away; they are easily the best realty on campus.

I have lived in my CPM apartment for almost 2 years now and I have been very happy with them. I know they are actively trying to improve their service in relation to maintenance, and I've seen the difference. When I had a problem with my oven, they replaced the whole stove. Then when I had a really minor problem (toilet paper holder fell down), they fixed it in a matter of days. Overall, I really like my apartment and I especially like my property manager.

I don't even feel like writing about the way CPM treated us because it's so demoralizing. This cannot go on any longer. This company will continue to use the transitory college student to its monetary advantage, despite the fact that complaints have been submitted to the Tenant Union for years. As time goes on CPM will acquire more property and construct more buildings that are visually appealing but structurally unsound. All the while they will become further integrated within the community with surely lucrative and questionably moral maintenence contracts with local businesses. Its more than just the fact that we lose hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars individually. Its also the fact that by renting from such a company we are inadvertantly supporting a company greedily exploiting vulnerable college students. If we don't start demanding respect it will only get worse. Boycott CPM.

I'm usually not too picky when it comes to campus apartments, mainly because it's almost expected that they'll be a little dirty. So when I heard people talk about how bad CPM was, I just brushed it aside. Now I know better. Our apartment is not only disgusting, but it is unhealthy to live in. When we moved in back in August, there was mold all over the ceiling, walls, and growing in the toilet in our bathroom. We called them to take care of it, but all they did was spray paint over it. A few months later, the mold grew back. Big surprise! We called them again to take care of it. Their response to the situation: "Well, last time we used our special mold spray, which is supposed to permanently get rid of mold. It looks like it lasted a few months, so that's pretty good." I'm sorry, since when are permanently and four months the same thing?! Anyway, it took them over a week to come and take care of something that should be taken care of immediately!!! Now all of our clothes smell like mold and even when we wash them, it's hard to get rid of the smell.

Not only that, but recently we've had problems with a leaky shower. They had someone come in to cut out a huge chunk from the ceiling above our shower to fix the pipe. Now little pieces of drywall are falling into our bathtub and all the moldy pipes are exposed! As he was leaving, he told us that he fixed the pipe, but someone else was going to come to patch up the two feet by one foot hole in our ceiling. Yeah...it's been a week and still no one has come to fix it! I wouldn't mind so much, but now the mold smell in our bathroom is even stronger!!! I'll definitely be contacting the tenant union and health department about this. They've been screwing over students for far too long!

This company always got a lot of complaints. But it does offer cheap apt and most of its apt is extremely beautiful. I never got a chance to see inside but the outside is really great. My friend told me that its inside is a mess because most of its tanents are under and have a lot of party and destroy a lot of things. Yet, aparently this company still have a lot of tenants, as it keeps building new and extremely beautiful buildings each years.

Absolutely nothing stands out to me about this rental group. The staffing agent who worked with us did show us several units in the area, but most were run down and rough looking. We did end up renting one which I stayed in briefly. Maintenance was slow to respond to calls and there was a big problem with mice. The fixtures and appliances were old and did not work the greatest. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience.
