Taste Of Lebenon Restaurant

The food here is cheap and delicious! The falafel, shwarma, etc. is wrapped in a wrap-style pita (as opposed to pocket-style). I love the lamb shwarma here, but the falafel is also excellent. The service is very fast and friendly and you have to love the cheesy postcard-style pictures of Lebanese landmarks on the walls.

I have been coming to Taste of Lebanon for a year now, and it's one of my favorite Chicago restaurants. You can eat like a king for under $4, and all the dishes are fresh and authentic. The fattoush salad is terrific, and the baba ghannoush has a rich, smoky flavor that puts almost every other restaurant serving it to shame. Taste of Lebanon is just a storefront with no atmosphere--aside from some peeling posters of Lebanese ruins--but that's all part of the charm...The hours can be a little odd, so check ahead before stopping by.
