This by far is my favorite restaurant In Chicago. Their menu is simple, fun and tasty! You can never go wrong with reasonable prices and fresh cuisine that is a fresh approach on traditional italian. The staff is remarkable, always friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is high energy and exciting. I love going all out here and take all my guests here to experience one Chicago's great places to eat! I always go with the fish entrees....amazing!

With a party of 8 on a Saturday night, pre-Sunday morning running race. Food was excellent, from melon/prosciutto, to roasted chicken, and--of course--pasta. Decor was nothing special, but pleasant. Service was good, but then they would not split the check. By-the-glass wine selection fairly limited. Pretty pricey for what we had. A good overall experience, but would likely not return, with all the other Italian options in Chicago!

Have been going to this place for 10 years and have never been disappointed. I really do think it is the best Italian in the city. Also love Saporo di Napoli on Belmont.

My recent experience has left me very disappointed in Mia Francesca. The maitre'd/manager (Fernando) was startlingly rude and presumptuous. The restaurant was 2/3 empty and yet he refused my 70 year old grandmother a chair to sit in until the rest of our party arrived. When a chair was requested a second time, he refused us by saying, "I see her. She looks fine."
He then proceeded to sit us in the very back near the bus station and bathroom. We said no and he again made my grandmother stand while he chose a new table. Repeat, the restaurant was mostly empty, this was 5:45 on a Wednesday evening. His behavior made me take a look at his seating policy and I realized that he sat couples in the front, women eating together or families in the back. Ridiculous and mean spirited is the nicest way I can term this policy.
The night ended up alright as our server was very nice and the food was, as always, fine, but after eating here for many years, we will not go back.

I Love this place. Italian food isn?t usually all that exciting for me, but I get excited when I go to Mia Francesca. You definitely want to make a reservation, no matter what day of the week it is. They will usually seat you promptly. The service has always been knowledgeable and pleasant without being over eager. Assorted, changing specials with reliable stand-by?s make for a great menu. Most importantly, the food is always fantastic ? and the price is right on. Try it out, you WONT be disappointed!

This is a gem of a place, but I highly recommend going at off-times if you plan to talk with the people in your party. The noise level when the place is full leaves my ears ringing in a manner normally reserved for rock concerts. With that said, the food really is rather fantastic. I've been to Mia Francesca many, many times and never had a dish that didn't make me swoon. Their appetizers are especially delightful.

I've been to Mia Francesca a number of times, never had a bad experience. It's always packed, always loud and always tasty. Good service and helpful waiters. Tables are extremely close together, you have to climb over your neighbors to leave or go to the restroom.

this restaurant was good. the food i had was delicious, i had the salmon and shrimp along with a special appetizer that was a pepper brushetta. i did not have to wait for seating but i ate outside on the patio that was very nice, the inside of the restaurant was absolutely crazy and i couldnt even imagine eating in there. the bathrooms are in a very bad spot right in the middle of the traffic between in/outdoor seating and the bus boy station. on top of it, there is only one stall for each. overall, i would go back because i thought the food was wonderful but the scene was a little chaotic.

This restaurant was highly recommended by a friend and encouraged by it's great review in the Zagat guide. I couldn't wait to try it, however after my experience, I have no idea what it is that people like about this restaurant. The decor is nice, but the acoustics are awful. It was so loud inside that I had to struggle to hear my date and the waiter couldn't hear us when he was four feet away. I was willing to forgive these flaws if the food was worth it, but again I was disappointed with a bland entree. I am from NYC where Little Italy hardly ever failed to disappoint me. If this is considered one of Chicago's best restaurants or best Italian restaurants, I'm not sure that there is much to look forward to.

This place is fantastic! We came for my husbands birthday and had a great time! the food was excellent and the prices were VERY reasonable for Chicago! We ordered 2 drinks a piece, an appetizer, dinner and dessert and spent only $20 more (including tip) then we did for lunch at some tourist spot!! Our waitress was great and we rather liked the high intesity and hustle that was going on around us. It was well worth doing a little reasearch before we went out. I highly recomend Mia Francesca to anyone looking for a great meal for a great price! Can't wait untill the next time we are in Chicago so we can eat here again!

I think all theraving about this place has to be strictly on atmosphere. The appetizers were bought packaged I gaurantee and not nade there. We had peperoncinin stuffed with cheese. Definitely pulled from a purchased container and put on our plate to serve. Food was just average.....you get what you pay for here. It's not expensive and the food is NOT great. It's just okay. The outdoor bar in back though is really nice and I might go there again next time I am in te mood to eat avergage Italian outdoors. WAiting here for more than a half hour to get a table is unjustified.........

This is the ultimate place to bring a date. The front might be a little crowded, so I suggest going back to the coach house.

The food and dessert is just awesome... I'm not sure how else to describe it. The service was fast & attentive as well. Enough said.

P.S. In my opinion, it was worth the wait.

You won't get spagehetti and meatballs as my dad complained when I brought him, but what you will get are some of the best pasta, fish, and chicken dishes you have tried. Portions are more than generous and the service is mostly good and friendly. The carpaccio is the best I have ever had anywhere and the calamari are tender. If you like noisy, go to Clark Street. If you mind the din, go to Tayor street where they take reservations.

This is an energetic restaurant with a fun crowd. Here's the breakdown on the food: Calamari fritti - good, Linguine Frutti del Mare - avg, Tiramisu - great. Take advantage of the moderate Italian wine selection. Our waiter was a riot but the service was average. I wouldn't come here for the food so much as the atmosphere so the next time you want to "pre-game" with some friends, this is the spot. Expect to wait a while for a table so make yourself comfortable at the bar... that's always good start!

A relaxed and "appetizing" atmosphere..... A wonderfully diverse menu.....excellent service.... very fair prices.... but, the best Mia has to offer is it's delicious meals. Even the oil and bread is better than any other to be found in this city. Growing up as an Itlaian and exposed to the best in Italian home cooking, I never expected to find a restaurant in my own back yard that met my expectations, and Mia's does, every time. Another plus--they will make up a special little something for you, even if it is not on the menu!!

I am a frequent diner at the fine Mia Francesca Bryn Mawr and all I can say it that you have to eat their food to know why I am a frequenter. If I may recommend some dishes, actually what I order every time I visit is, Cozze Calamari, delicious pasta dish with calamari, and their calamari fritti is to die for, melts in your mouth not in your hand.

There is nothing in this city that holds a candle to this place in quality of food. It is a bit noisy, small, and tables are real close together but it is worth the loss of your voice. The service is incredible. All the servers know the food, how it is prepared, and can lean you in the direction of something your taste buds will love. You can an entire Saturday night to get in here but if you go a bit later in the evening, after a show, or some drinks, it is perfect.

This restaurant serves really good, simple Italian food at a great price--no wonder it's packed on weekends. It would be a fantastic date restaurant, but the crowds and the noise level sometimes make it difficult to converse. The service is very efficient, even when every table is filled and there's a crowd at the bar waiting to be seated. And the food is wonderful--the carpaccio appetizer melts in your mouth and the pasta dishes are always good deals. Worth the wait.

I live in the neighborhood -- and yet this is a place I would travel across town to eat. The food is delicious from the pizzas to the highly recommended veal medallions. Though, with drinks you can definitely ring up a bill for what you get the prices are reasonable. And the staff is attentive.
