I have taken 3 things here over a span of over 10 years and all were repaired with no problems so I keep going back. In one case he said it would be cheaper to buy new but the unit had sentimental value and it's still working.

i delivered my akai reel to reel back in 2003 for repair.i gave the owner, dave,a $20 deposit, and he would check it out and told me to call in about a week. well,i was told they were still checking it. called again, now the guy that helps with repairs hurt his back due to some injury.called back, waterpipe broke in the back of the shop.this has been going on for 6years.i'm very busy, i live on the southside, and getting the time to drive all the way up to the northside during the week is hard.all i can say is don't consider this business for anything

I am not sure how to detail my review except that unless you want more stress, complication, poor treatments, and the possibility of never getting back your equipment, don?t do business with this company! While the owner, Dave, may give the appearance of a empathetic and concerned individual he is neither. I sent in a turntable on the 26th of January, 2008; it arrived on the 30th, I have no idea what the status of it is. Dave was always to busy to talk with me, and I spoke with his brother? Tom once, neither will do me the courtesy of taking my money and returning the turntable to me. Something must be amiss with this place as unless it is a front for something else it does not appear to be a "real" business. Did you ever get that feeling that something more is going on than meets the eye? I am sure that sounds paranoid, but that is how every situation I have encountered with these folks has been. I have given my work and cell number, offered to pay them through whatever means is acceptable but no communication. I don't think I will ever get my son's turntable back, and that is not the end of the world. I/he will get over that, I just don't understand what is going on at the Stereo Exchange, and I don't have the time nor the inclination to figure that out any more. All I wanted was someone who knew what they were doing to bring my son's table back to specs, charge me a reasonable price and then send it back. This has not happened, it defies explanation but don't you get trapped in whatever is going on there. It takes a great deal for me to get to this point as I am usually the kind of person to recognize good before pointing out the bad. Although there are two sides to every story I assure you I am being conservative in detail and difficulty.

Pros: Sounds like a place you would want to do business with

Cons: Really isn't, not sure if it is a business
