I just visited the 529 S. Dearborn salon yesterday. Love how my haircut turned out but hated the experience. They barely spoke English so I couldn't get across what I wanted done, my stylist ranked of cigarettes, and then he proceed to yank on my hair with his brush, comb, hands... My head is still sore but again I do like how the cut turned out. Another thing...website info is posted but it certainly doesn't lead you to theirs. Where is it? And there were no posted prices anywhere so when they told me my cut was $50, what was that based on?Not sure if I would return.

Yehia is worth the 45ish dollar haircut.
I'm not sure how my hair ends up looking great when I leave, because my hairdresser usually talks on his cell phone the entire time he is cutting my hair. This made me nervous the first time, but I was impressed when he finished and it hasn't bothered me since.

The shampoo/conditioning is delightful, and makes up for the second, less gentle half of the experience- the haircut. If you find haircuts to be a uniquely pleasant experience, this is where Yehia falls short. They've yanked my hair a little abruptly now and then, and there's no pretense of hairdresser-customer chit-chat. Some people may like not feeling like they have to make conversation, others may prefer a warmer experience. If you like the latter, that's rare at Yehia.

Still, in the end, they do a great job. Despite the cell phone and the occasional hair yanking, I would go to them before any other place for a dependable haircut.
