Jerry's Iga

I was recently at Jerry's IGA at Roundbarn, and I found everything that I was looking for (I typically shop there because I like that they have a butcher in house that can get fresh cut meats and recipies occasionally), the store was clean, an employee asked if he could help me find anything, everything was going great. I was checking out, and the kid helping me was nice enough, then... the cashier paged for assistance for bagging my groceries, and TO MY SUPRISE... The store manager was bagging my groceries! IMPRESSIVE. I like that his "keeping it real," attitude. He's not "above" doing the so called "grunt work". He was pleasant and because of that small experience - I'll keep on shopping there.

In Champaign we have IGA owned under different names. This IGA owned by Jerry. The reason I went there only because (1) it is next to my apt (2) support local store. Otherwise, it doesn't have as many choices as those large supermarket. And it won't be able to provide products as cheap as those large supermarket. But I think "support local store" itself is a good reason for people who like to go there.
