No Receipt? No Return!!!
by Anonymous
I went in to Target to return 2 items. The first was a set of slip covers I had bought online. I brought the ONLY paper that came with the product thinking it was the receipt. Apparently it wasn't good enough and the girl at the counter wouldn't accept it. OK, luckily I had the credit card with me. (I won't even go into the hassle of that.) Item one was successfully returned.Next, I wanted to return a gift I had gotten for my wedding. I was informed of the Target policy: No receipt- no credit card- no return. This is a ridiculous policy since the box had TARGET.COM written all over it. She told me to ask the gift giver for a receipt or get the credit card from him. Yeah, thanks for your help- the gift giver is in Pittsburgh and we're in Chicago. This was not what I'd call customer service.

this is the smallest target store I have ever been to. I can never find anything that I am looking for in this store. The quantities are very limited and the selection is poor. The only positive note is that the parking is great. They have a 2 story parking garage.

As far as Target stores go, this one is far more organized and less crowded than others. I always avoid the Elston and Howard locations because they are packed and lines are long. That is never the case at the Addison store. If there is anybody in line it's only one or two people before you. I also appreciate that this location has additional parking and is a two-level building. They have one of those neat card escalators and large elevators to bring merchandise with you.
The only tricky thing is figuring out what's on what floor. All the merchandise is kept in order and the check-out people are really efficient and friendly.
PROS: Organized, less crowded and clean
CONS: Two-level might be tricky for some

my Target of choice!

I much prefer this location to the one on Elston. It's a two-level store with the cart escalator in the center (like Ikea) and elevators for those with babies in the cart. It seems less crowded and neater than other Targets. The staff also is friendlier, and parking is easy in the garage in back - then you can enter and check out on the second floor.
