Deplorable customer service. Disturbing on many levels. Long-term customer, spent $100's of dollars in merchandise. Tried to return a defective pair of Brooks running shoes and was publicly humiliated by the staff as I was told "These shoes have excessive wear and tear" and had to endure a folding demonstration on my shoe.

The staff is fine as long as you are spending money. God forbid if you have to return an item because you will get the 3rd degree and made to feel like a criminal. Matt and Chris (the owner) need to take some HR sensitivity and diversity classes. Matt couldn't even hide his disdain for me when I walked in the door. Not sure why...never met him before. But after the comment the owner Chris of @NapervilleRunCo made, "It's people like you that are always trying to go around the rules and bypass the system" I can't help but feel discriminated against. The owner went on to tell me that "I have a history of buying and returning shoes" which has zero merit and that he has to "draw the line in the sand" with me.

Later found out from @RRSports that Brooks is now manufacturing their shoes in China. The soles are made of a cheaper rubber material. The owner Chris @NapervilleRunCo didn't want to hear it. He didn't care that I sprang my ankle and was laid up for 2 months. He even said, "If we have to part ways then so be it." Absolutely disgusted and will never shop there again. Then again, thats what they wanted.

My Dad introduced me to this great running store. Everyone that worked there is a runner, so they are well aware of what works and what doesn't, and why -- because they have experience. The prices are a little high, but you can feel better knowing that they are trying to sell you the right thing because it works for you -- not because it is the most expensive. I look forward to shopping there again -- give it a try!!

Despite the Naperville address, you can actually get a deal here. The staff is so wonderful for getting shoes. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Prices on socks, running accessories and goo are very competitive, too. Buy your shoes here and you'll be sure they fit YOU.

Naperville Running Company is a good sports store for when you are specifically looking for running gear. If you are prepared to lay out the cash for a really good pair of running shoes then this is the place. You will also get more attention from staff here than a general shoe store.

The store is very well kept and clean. There are a variety of running shoes and related gear of various brands displayed al over the store. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially if you have very little running knowledge or experience. They are glad to help with finding and fitting the right shoe for you. The best part about this store is they have a treadmill in the store, so the employees can watch you run. big plus.

PROS: in store treadmill, downtown location
CONS:
