If you're craving Indian food while in the UIC area, Taj Mahal is not a bad place. I prefer to carry out since the restaurant is not that great, but the food is good if you're hungry.

I am so happy I found this place. I live near UIC and usually have to go to Devon for Indian/Paki food.

I recommend the Biryani for those that can't handle too much spice and for those who like it really hot, I recommend the chicken 65. (yeah that is the real name)

There is no naan there, but Pharata is great.

This place is more of a take out joint, but the Mom and son atmosphere feels real and the people there are very kind and the food is great.

Warning: if you can't handle spicy foods, as some people's stomachs just aren't used to it, I recommend you stick to the veggie samosas and Biryani.

Definitely compares to the better restaurants on Devon, and quite a bit better than some places on Devon.
