I had a lock top damper installed 9 years ago with lifetime warranty written on the invoice. The technician assured me, if anything would go wrong it would be fixed or replaced. However, after the product fell apart, they did not want to replace it. After 2 months of communicating back and forth, the owner got involved and refunded my purchase price.
We've have 3 fireplaces installed by the Elmhurst guys, One standard gas replacement and 2 zero clearance fireplaces. they all work wonderful. The addition stayed toasty all winter and had little impact on my gas bill. I should have replaced the standard fireplace with the zero clearance one. they do great work.
I had heard of Fireplace & Chimney Authority from a co-worker and decided to stop in. I was impressed with the selection and sales staff. I was able to schedule my installation in a couple weeks and I had a great install crew. I am looking forward to using my fireplace all winter.

This company offers custom built fireplaces or ready made fireplaces . Their showroom displays a wide range of what they have to offer. Their location on Lake Street is right near the North Ave & York Rd interestcion. We purchased a custom made fireplace from this company last winter and we love it. Their prices are reasonable and their installation was very quick and clean. They also offer a range of other services that relate to fireplaces, like Chimney building, repair cleaning etc. The sales staff that helped us with our purchase were very friendly and helpful. Even if you are only browsing, this showroom is worth looking at.

This is by far the best place in the Chicagoland area to buy a fireplace! I drove from downtown Chicago, and was extremely impressed with their selection.
The entire staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They had answers and solutions to all of my concerns. I'm just trying to figure out which fireplace, a modern, sleek one or an old fashioned looking one would be best for my living room... I just know my winter is going to be so much better now with a brand new fireplace! I also am now looking at possibly buying a pizza oven for my backyard. There's so many possibilites at Fireplace and Chimney Authority.
They way they handle complaints is. You take it or leave it. You are on your own.

These reviews are not from customers of ours but are linked to a competitor who finds the need to bash us on the internet to try and gain business. We have never written a false review ourselves and our workers are respectful and courteous and would never overestimate a job and "peel" out of a customer's driveway. Our managers are also respectful and courteous and would never speak to a customer in the manner in which the review on Citysearch suggests. Instead of internet reviews being the deciding factor, if a new customer is interested we will gladly give customer references for you to call and get real reviews of our work. Thank you.
I had these guys t my home for a chimney cleaning and instead the kid walked around the house, went up on the roof, and came down with a $4230 estimate. He stated the chimney was unsafe and demanded we have it fixed immediatly. I told him to leave my home and he got very disrespectful with me before pealing out in his van leaving rubber marks in the driveway. i called their office and the guy I spoke to told me, and I quote "you should've got the work done." So I called 2 more companys for estimates and no one else found any issues. These guys are trash
