This busy intersection is no stranger to wild times. The building that houses Emmit's once housed the valuable hordes of several prominent Chicago gangsters. The remnants of this era can be seen throughout the building. Along the years it has evolved but the spirit of old-school Chicago remains. In addition to the craziness, Emmit's is also a favorite location for Hollywood producers with scenes shot from Ocean's 11 & 12,Backdraft,Uncle Buck,The Beast,& many others. Established in 1996, it has become the neighborhoods unrivaled corner pub. True to its heritage, the bars decor runs the gamut from traditional Irish items to official Chicago Police paraphernalia. Outside of the domestic and imported microbrews, the bar boasts an original martini list & offers both Irish & American dining selections. Sample the shepherd's pie along with one of the many scotches! Stop by & say slainte!
Lots of fun!

I love hanging out here whenever I get a chance. The food is not memorable, but the atmosphere is unbeatable. There is just something to the place that makes you feel right at home. Never been during the week, only Saturdays, and it's been both super crowded and very mellow. Great staff has fun and took great care of us. Must check it out!
Pros: Staff, Atmosphere, Beer Selection
Cons: Bar Food, Sometimes too hot, Music

I stumbled upon this while before having dinner at Thyme (which is across the street) and was very impressed. My date and I had a few drinks before our dinner, and then came back for a nightcap. They had a great crowd and we had a great time. Two thumbs up!
Pros: Good Crowd, Comfortable, Great Employees
Cons: A Little Hot, Outside a bit rundown, No parking
